Clemme w/Stick
As I recently reached 1000 posts, I seemed to loose the whole gotta post idea. I dont why I lost it, but it just hasnt been there the last few days. I really want to continue to post here, but if I dont feel like it, I dont see the point in doing it. Some of you may have noticed that I havent posted much lately, and this would be the explanation. Now to the real reason why I made this thread... Did you encounter the same problem, when you reached 1000 posts? If yes, what did you do in order to keep posting? If not, do you have any good advice or ideas to keep me going? Thx for all your help! -Clemme
Darklighter
Well, it did kinda happen to me. I was desperately trying to get my custom title (lol) back in the summer. I had about 50 posts to go, and I posted like hell until I got there, all in one day! After that there was a little anti-climax. i didn't feel the need to keep posting as much as before. But, I wanted to, and as the summer was a pretty hopping time for this place, I had plenty to occupy myself with. As for you Clemme, I suggest browsing through forums that you maybe haven't visited before, and find threads/forums that interest you. You don't have to stick to JKII.net. Look through current threads and just post for the hell of it (according to the rules, of course;)). I had the same problem a couple of months ago: I suddenly stopped coming on here so much, cos everyone was saying how boring it had gotten. But after a while I came back, and as I posted more again, I got back into it. Or do what I did, and just take a little break. Doesn't hurt once in a while. You'll be missing us before you know it;)
XERXES
i never keep track of any of thost numbers below my name anymore...i just post cause its fun and to give my opinion or jibberish things...blah.
leXX
I go through phases when I think to myself 'what the hell am I doing wasting my life by posting here?', and I don't visit the forums for a few days and I get bored of it etc etc. All I can say is it's like an addiction, once you get into the habit it's hard to break. Sometimes I can go for many hours without smoking but eventually I get withdrawal symptons and I just have to have a ciggie. The phase will pass. StormHammer
Of course there is a point in continuing to post...if you really want to discuss and debate, or just for fun and relaxation. I've never been bothered by the number of posts I've had on any forum...because I don't visit them simply to improve my post count, or get a better title under my name. I invariably only post when I feel I have something to contribute to a particular topic. Having said that, I've had days (even weeks), where I've thought...what's the point? Don't I have better things to do? Perhaps...but then I realise that if I can come here and help someone with a problem or issue that matters to them...then that's quite a useful way to spend a couple of hours. If you can make someone stop and think, perhaps even change a viewpoint, you've contributed something to the flow of life. Well, that's my view. Take time out...go and do something else for a while...but there's no reason to stop posting at all.
Rogue Nine
*takes a gander at the number below his name* Wow. Okay. Five thousand of those are from pre-merger XWA. I think I stopped caring what my post count was when I reached 600. Back then, you got to be a Jedi Knight and that was quite enough for me. These forums never get boring. I suspect they might in the future, but eh. I take every day as it comes along.
Pad
i know the feeling clem. after reachin my 2000 posts i had to do a lot of stuff (like EB) and the easiest way to handle that was to skip LF. or so i thought. but as you can see, whenever i have some time im back here. i think its normal you have a posting stop. just let it pass and after a while you see yourself posting again like never before. teutonicknight
For me I slowed down at about 50 posts, then went up slowly from there (Hey, All I wanted was to not become a Bantha Fodder ) I didn't really slow down at 1000, I guess mostly becasue the new point system went up and I wanted to get an img sig. I'm kinda of slowing down now though, mostly because of real world activitys (yes, I do have a life )
Elessar-Eärfalas
yeah, same with me Clemme. ever since ive reached 1000 ive slowed down which im sure alot of you have noticed i guess another reason may be because i got kicked of the computers at school for being on here!! and they blocked lucasforums.com....lol i know, it sucks doesnt it! C'jais
I've never really been concerned with my post count, except for when I had about 50-ish posts left in order to reach 1000. After 1000, I stopped caring about posting, and started caring about making good posts. So can you
Kstar__2
i recentely found out i have more then 3000 posts, i didn't notice it:D i guess i don't look at numbers now, but i would be lying to say i never did. (padanime may remember my little sprint to 1000 ) i guess after a while you just start posting for the posting, and don't care about the numbers anymore. Clemme w/Stick
Hmm, you all got some good points there, and after reading them all through, I've come to this decission. Post count doesnt matter once youve reached 1000, and instead you just post for the post and fun of it. Thats why I've decided to stay around, and just take it slow and easy from here. I mean, I've reached 1000, I'm a trainer and I have some k00 friends here ! I want to thank you all for giving me this insight, and for being my friends....! Well, cya around the boards then..! -Clemme
