but still it was ironic how everywhere in NY state lost power expect for some lil hick towns... *shrugs*

Oh yeah, gotta love it when ya have the best spots not only for bandwidth but for isolation from b.s. too

they have anti power failure powers ..

like backup systems ..

for instance the hospitals ..

the firm where i work once had trouble with a system at a hospital .. only once in a month .. we finally found out that they once in a month TEST the poweraggregates which just turn on if mainpowersupply fails ..

No. Massachusetts is totally on it's own isolated grid, fortunately.

There were a few towns out on the NY border (out past Springfield) that did go dark though.

And they think it was a lightning strike on a transformer station on the US side of Niagra that started the overload cascade.

I was unaffected way the hell out in Oregon. And even if our grid had gone down...my land yacht runs on solar. :p*(Gloats openly.)*

It was not a lightning strike. There were no clouds, storms or reported strikes anywhere near that power plant. As of right now...they have absolutely no idea what caused the blackout.

My money is on cyberterrorism. Really. :) Even if it were, would the US government admit it? Think about it.
