Jake
Someone around here has to live near enough to that GC convention with the concert that it would be convenient to slip in there with a DAT recorder or something... You love it.
Monkey Mania
Isn't that illegal?
Alien426
I tried to do something like that last year. Unfortunately I only had the recording function of my iPaq PDA to work with, so the results are mediocre. I'm looking for a quality digital recording device right now, but I don't want to spend too much on something I might only use once.

Alien426
It's in Germany. Leipzig, to be exact. Read more about it here, here and here (German only, it seems).
Jake
Yes it's probably illegal. Of course, if they announce that they'll be selling CD's of the show I'll be first in line to buy three and give away two as contest prizes. Or to sell on eBay. NHJ BV
At least we'd hold the moral highground in this case
Yufster
Awesome. Whatever Jake is getting, I want one too. I'm not quite sure what it is, but that's just a cover for my illegal activities. And if somebody buys me a CD, I'll send them out the money. You know you can trust me to do this because I am not Irish.
Laserschwert
Now that the concert is over (it took place yesterday night), I hope somebody has good news on a recording... Anybody?
Alien426
I was there and it rocked (to say the least). Some stuff wasn't so nice, though. Like the security guys trying to prevent people from taking photos and recording the concert... I recorded some stuff on an analog cassette recorder. I haven't had the time yet to check the quality and how to get it onto my PC. GC itself was cool, too. P.S. Sorry I didn't reply to your PM yet, Laserschwert. Laserschwert
But that is already good news... Hope to get some MP3s
Rapp Scallion
When do you think the mp3's will be available for download? -Rapp Scallion (Hmm... Looked at the date on the previous post. 21. Here it's still 20....)
Laserschwert
Yeah, somehow I've never bothered with the settings in my profile, so it was left at London-time...
ThunderPeel2001
Somebody MUST do this... for the sake of the whole community!! If they sell CD's buy a bulk load and we'll cough up the cash!
Alien426
Check out this cool site where you can download samples which are in the same low quality as the full recordings!! I started recording at the third tune (EQ2), paused for the speaches, and the cassette stopped somewhere during MGS. I was too chicken to turn the cassette. Even though there was a tremendous request for the CDs that SynSONIQ sold after the concert, I guess there won't be one from the concert... edit: Curiously there are mumbling voices audible even though I didn't hear anything while recording... must have been the ghost of a musician who got impaled on a violin bow... Thrik
So, can the music they did actually be obtained anywhere other than by bootlegged recordings? Whether it's from the actual concert or not isn't a concern, but I'd love to hear nice orchestrial versions of a lot of the music they appear to have played. ¬
Thrik
Urk, I just listened to the samples. I would quite literally kill for high quality versions of this lot.
Alien426
You can rip Max Payne 2's music. CDs: The Best Of LucasArts SWON Hitman 2 has 2 great CDs. Also check out the official downloads for the Hitman series. Metal Gear Solid
Thrik
Oh, nono, I meant their versions of it -- where you recorded the samples from. Sorry, by "not from the actual concert" I meant versions that they'd recorded properly themselves for a CD release, which is what I thought you meant they'd done in your last post. That experpt of the MI one was just pure brilliance. Lechuck's theme, especially.
JBRAA
Wow. The Super Mario Brothers sounds so fun, full and rich of life. The music fills a vast space of air. =)
Alien426
Concert producer Thomas Boecker confirmed in an interview that there won't be a CD. "Einen Mitschnitt des Konzertes wird es auch 2004 nicht zu kaufen geben." "There won't be a recording of the concert for sale in 2004, either." ThunderPeel2001
Copyright issues?? If LucasArts ever decide to revisit Monkey Island 1 & 2 (ie. CMI'mify them) they should get these guys to perform the music.... WOW!
Thrik
It's a real arse, that. Despite being low quality, they're pure brilliance. I'd give my bone marrow for these.
