BongoBob
Very good thing: Finally getting my family's income tax return check in the mail, 3-4 weeks after we were supposed to have it. This is such a huge mood lift, you have no idea. We're supposed to be out of this place by the end of the month, and this check was the only thing keeping us from being able to get into a new place. swphreak
I'm waiting for the Blu-Ray versions to come out. That should be awesome.
BongoBob
It's family tradition for everyone to splurge on one thing with the tax return while we use the rest for bills/savings for family trips/other important things, and this year is no exception. I just preordered the Deluxe Hardcover edition of this: Which comes with the cd itself of course, a sort of Making Of DVD, and this: A 352 page novel of the story of the CD. For those of you who don't know, each Coheed CD has told a part of what's known as The Amory Wars, and both their first released cd (Second Stage Turbine Blade) and their third cd (Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness) both had comics release showing the story. They've also been a large hassle, with us fans still waiting for them to do one for In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3 and No World For Tomorrow, as well as a supposed remake of Burning Star IV. So this time, Cluadio said f*** it, and just wrote a novel alongside writing the album, and including it with the deluxe edition of the cd. tl;dr it needs to be April 12th like right now. EDIT: Amazon released an image of the full package: Squee!
TiE23
I think artists writing fictional books around their albums should be a more common event. Though, in the case of Mastodon's Leviathan, they'd just include a copy of Moby-Dick with way more metal cover art.
Alexrd
I'm waiting for the Blu-Ray versions to come out. That should be awesome. Indeed. I always had the theatrical versions on DVD, and only after all these years I suddenly decided to buy the extended editions. Since I still don't have a Blu-Ray player yet, I bought the DVD versions. I guess the Blu-Ray versions will come out when "The Hobbit" movie arrives in theaters.
IG-64
I'm getting to where I wait for the multi-disk Blu-ray ultimate extended special complete collector's gold edition of everything before I actually buy it. That means it'll be awhile till I pick up Avatar or the LotR+Hobbit on Blu-ray. Things are getting even more complicated with all the 3D stuff coming out now, but I don't expect I'll even bother with that for a very long time. edlib
How much are you planning on overclocking that thing?!?? Why not just go straight to the liquid nitrogen?
Darth Avlectus
Whoa. Cool Anthony--how many CFM are each of those fans? @edlib: There is a liquid cooling option and I have seen many an impressive getup for custom machines. If you ever need an alternative use for a radiator or a transmission cooler, this makes a good alternate use.
jon_hill987
Parts of the budget were very good today. For me anyway. Stamp Duty scrapped for homes below £250,000 for first-time buyers It was 1% on homes over £125,000. Should mean I have an extra £1,300 in my bank account when I move into my new home in a week or so (I'm hoping to complete before the end of the month). Nerd_Annhilator
Whoa. Cool Anthony--how many CFM are each of those fans? Combined CFM is around 102. Later on I may replace the noctua fans (which are really nice and dont really need replacing) with 150cfm delta fans (that is..150cfm for each fan.) Problem is, theyre louder than an f-16 taking off around 8000rpm I plan to have at LEAST a 4.2ghz overclock, if not a little higher if the temps hold. Darth Avlectus
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=506873430516227655# OH whaaaat?! I thought you were kidding...that...is both insane and awesome. Love how the guy is using a salvaged refrigerator compressor. Those things are amazing, and you could even run it in reverse as a vacuum pump. Combined CFM is around 102. Later on I may replace the noctua fans (which are really nice and dont really need replacing) with 150cfm delta fans (that is..150cfm for each fan.) Problem is, theyre louder than an f-16 taking off around 8000rpm Hmm. Not bad. Not bad. I don't know if Comair Rotron brand is any quieter, but they do make all kinds of heavy duty fans for removing massive amounts of heat. Look them up, I'm sure you might find something good. I have one of their DC fans I'm using for an electronic project, and I think it is rated at 235 CFM. Not really quiet, but it certainly cools! I plan to have at LEAST a 4.2ghz overclock, if not a little higher if the temps hold. Wait--4.2 gigs?! Hot Damn. Forgive my rant but, for your consideration to shopping around for that project: For a heatsink compound: Arctic Silver, or Antec 5. THE BEST 2 brands out there I have ever seen. (Usually at Fry's electronics.) $20-30 for a single tube and these are 99.9% silver compound. Next, there's all sorts of approaches to liquid cooling. Maybe consider buying a 'transmission oil cooler', or similar mini-radiator that J.C. Whitney sells in various sizes for fairly good prices. Try eBay auto stores as well, namely look for the Dana-Long brand. For fans, heat sinks, enclosures, and accessories you might check out places that sell to pro's (and hobbyists) at factory wholesale prices: http://www.alliedelec.com http://www.Mouser.com (They send you a big thick catalog for FREE if you buy from them more than once within a month.) http://www.digikey.com http://www.newark.com Also these electronic surplus stores sell this kind of stuff. Check back from time to time as their stock always changes and you could end up with a steal of a deal. http://www.surplussales.com http://www.goldmine-elec.com http://www.electronicsurplus.com/ http://www.suburban-electronics.com/ Best of luck and happy hunting. Ahh I think I worded that poorly, I'm planning on getting up to 4.2ghz minimum, not being 4.2ghz faster than stock speed Since that would require... well... monumental cooling Anyway, turns out the noctua thermal compound actually beats artic silver 5. I still have a tube of AS if it works better though btw, thanks for those links

BongoBob
In other news, I'm still cleaning my room and packing s***, 12 hours with a few hours for breaks in it all EDIT: 14 hours, with about 3 hours worth of break time in all, with my big green garbage bag count reaching 5 bags stuffed as full as could be. Not too bad. My room is mostly done, got the last half of my closet and my drawers to go and that's basically it. I personally will be fully packed and ready by tomorrow night. The rest of the house however is a different matter entirely, but unfortunately that's basically 95% not my s***, so I'm not a whole lot of help when it comes to that. Basically, I'm hoping the only things that will be in my room by Saturday will be my monitor, my 360 and some necessary paraphernalia (MW2 and ME2, controller, charge cable, headset) and a suitcase full of clothes. TiE23
Went out to my bro's university apartment in the middle of Washington. Went shooting out in the middle of nowhere. I found some RAM and a motherboard! Used, but... recognizable. What's funny is that I found random parts of the decimated computer which all matched the crappy zombie-Compaq I use myself. Same DVD drive cover, same memory card reader, probably the same motherboard. Man, my computer is getting old. : \ Also, my bro's gun so far. (If you can't figure it out, it'll look a lot like this, but olive drab instead of black. [Link])
