9/11 Movie?

My friend told me that they might make a movie about 9/11, on the plane that fought back and stuff like that. And, it's not a TV movie deal. Do you think that its right that someone should make a movie, and make money on something so terrible? I can understand if they donate the money to charity or something like that, but if they are just doing it for money, I think that it's wrong.

What do you think?

It would make a horrible movie. But stupid people would go see it because it's about 9/11, just like what happened with The Passion of the Christ. That movie sucked, but people went to see it because it was about Jesus.

@Insane Sith-

You have to remember your body count conversions:

2000 Massacred Congolese = 500 Drowned Bangladeshis = 45 Fire-bombed Iraqis = 12 Car-bombed Eurpoeans = 1 Snipered American, thus 9/11 killed 36000 Europeans, or 135000 Iraqis, or 1500000 Bangladeshis, or 6000000 Congolese.

There are movies about every war, there are movies about a million different atrocities. I would wager the movie itself will suck, and I probably won't go see it, but I don't really care if they make a movie about it.

Well it's being directed by Oliver Stone, so it's almost guaranteed that I won't see it. I can't think of a single movie he's made that I truely enjoyed.

With all the respect...

Of course it's bad and insane what happened, but will a movie make it go away? I think it might actually open old wounds, instead of healing them.

Well there is Farenheit 9/11 and people didn't seem to have a problem with it. It was shown in the Middle East, in Syria! Still I'll make the same case, we have movies on war, based on true events and not all of them are pleasant. Since when war is supposed to be pleasant? Some filmmakers are idealistic in that they are honoring those it is about. If comes out and you don't want to see it then don't. What is the big deal? The series Over There was about our time in Iraq and that was gruesome stuff and yet people watched it.

IDK, I'd probably would have seen it until Stone's name was mentioned, now I've lost all interest.

*mumbles something about his **** vision of 'the Doors'*

Either way, you probably don't have much longer to wait. It's been post production for about a month and it's listed as a 2006 release. I'm guessing he's shooting for sometime in September...

Both of them sucked too.

You are entitled to your opinions and I will not argue with you but I think these movies or series are made to confront the people what they don't want to know or are afraid to know. We have to fight for our freedom and the reality in the world is that we are not very well liked by many nations in the world. Like the Jedi, we have grown arrogant thinking that our way is the best.

Whoops. Looks like there are two of them. The Stone movie I knew about. I thought Greengrass was busy working on The Bourne Ultimatum. I hope the does use the shaky-cam in this one too (although I do appreciate his "documentary" film style).

•9/11 remembered Two accounts of what happened on that fateful day could find their way onto the Oscar short list. British director Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy) tackles the foiled terrorist plot aboard Flight 93 (April 28). Oliver Stone, no stranger to Oscar, emphasizes the human story over political intrigue in World Trade Center (Aug. 9).
