The_Catto
Hullo there, just wondering, whether or not anybody else plays an instrument? I play Electric and Acoustic Guitar, Bass, a little bit of Keyboard, im also a Lyricist . I like to play Metal, and Hard rock. Sometimes a little darker music is fine too. I love playing Metallica songs. 'Enter Sandman' rocks! and 'Master of Puppets' with 'One' are in my top list i love to play . So ... Anybody else play? Come discuss, what type of style you like to play and what songs you play.
Diego Varen
I play Keyboard and I sing too. I like the old stuff from the 60's onwards (Don't mind 50's but it's not as good as the 60's onwards). The only modern music I like is Gorrilaz and even I don't like them as much as The Beatles, The Who, Queen and many others I won't list here. I'm trying to write my own songs, but I can't do it. The_Catto
it's easy enough to write your own songs, you just have to know what you want to write about. whether its something related to you, or someone you know. Or even an event. Queen is pretty good, i like them, The Who arnt all that bad either.

Jae Onasi
I took one year of violin, which was all my mother could stand. I've done a couple years of piano--enough to play music if I practice the piece a lot, not enough to be able to sight-read anything. Played soprano recorder for some Renaissance feasts and festivals, and I can also play the sopranino recorder. I can play them without squeaking, thank you. Diego Varen
Oh yeah, I also forgot that when I was eight or nine, I took Trombone. I could never play it, instead my cheeks were all red and puffed and I knew that I would never play such an Instrument again . I started singing in Year 7 and Keyboard near the end of Year 7. milo
I play piano and bass guitar. @ cutmeister I see you're about to hit 1000 posts. I'll bet you're happy.
The Doctor
Well, I took piano lessons for the better part of ten years, but couldn't keep up with the practice when I started high school. Now that I'm used to the bigger workload, however, I want to get back into the lessons. I've also played the Trombone for about three years now. I just bought my own Bass Trombone a few months ago - $3000. It's worth every penny.

stingerhs
well, the voice is as much an instrument as anything. i took 4 years of chorus in high school, and by my senior year, i was able to sight read most of the pieces we were introduced to. i can still sight read to an extent, but i don't get much of an opportunity to use it often. i've also just started to learn how to play the guitar with the help of a couple friends. i ain't that good just yet, but someday... Q
I took piano lessons when I was in grade school. I got to the low intermediate level before I quit, but I've forgotten most of it. I'd like to pick it up again. Piano is an extremely versatile instrument. I played trumpet in band in middle school, but I doubt I'd want to pick up any wind instrument now. I'm too fond of chords. I'm trying to learn guitar now. Man, is it hard on the fingers!
Boba Rhett
I play acoustic and electric guitar. I mainly fingerpick though.
Raven_Onasi
I've been playing the Trumpet for 6 years , and I have been teaching myself how to play electric guitar now for . . . 2 years. I sing too, but only when the stereo is turned up way loud so nobody else can hear me. LOL!!!!
Mace MacLeod
Electric bass guitar for about 18 years, mostly metal. Played in the nightclub circuit, did CDs with 3 bands, but every time I was in a group that had done some shows and recording and was looking to take the "Next Step" into getting serious agency or management, that's always when *something* would happen. The singer would leave in a collossal hissy fit, the drummer would have a nervous breakdown, the guitar player would get arrested for some trifling drug-related offence...always one thing or another. Like the time one of my old bands did a private show on Pender Island and got paid in weed. Then we got busted as soon as we got off the ferry at Tsawassen. RRRRRGH. I also play keyboards (more of the programming end of things rather than actually playing), and I played clarinet from grades 4-9. Dropped it as soon as I got my first bass. Q
Then we got busted as soon as we got off the ferry at Tsawassen. RRRRRGH. At least you were in Canada. I hear the laws regarding such things are far less harsh than they are down here in the US.

Hallucination
@Qliveur: Only recently, and since Mace is old () he probably got busted before the laws were relaxed. I have absolutely no musical talent, but I was forced to take trumpet in grade six. After one year of complaining my parents let me out of it. Q
^^^ Yeah, a trumpet is an obnoxious instrument in the hands of a novice.
Maverick5770
I took 5 years of Piano, resented all but the first year, and finally quit(Gotta love moving to a new town) I can sing, Mostly hymns at church with the rest of the church, but some other songs. I do play the trumpet, its not totally clashy noise, but it need the rest of the band there to sound any good. I can also Hum, but I doubt my Larnyx counts as a musical instrument. Oh yea, my mom tried to teach me the Guitar, but i gave that up after about a week, too many things to remember.
Mace MacLeod
since Mace is old () he probably got busted before the laws were relaxed. Actually, we got out of the charges by ratting out the hippies who gave us the smoke and set us up. Stupid hippies...that was the last time I did a gig for them. I'm with Eric Cartman on that one.
