IG-64 Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22788914/?GT1=10755 All I can say is dang. I haven't really seen many of his movies, but it just strikes me as how random this is. He was only 28. R.I.P.
BongoBob Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 This really sucks. I hope they don't have to do any reshoots or anything for the batman movie >.> <.<
Jeff Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Yeah I just saw this on digg, I couldn't believe it. I haven't seen many of his movies either but I know he's in the Dark Knight.
Ratmjedi Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 That just sucks to here. My friend just texted me and told me. Very sad to see a talented actor go especially with a daughter never getting to know her dad now. RIP
Commander Obi-Wan Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 What the hell? ****, this is so unexpected. And damn, before the Dark Knight was released as well. R.I.P.
Pie™ Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 According to the New York Times, Ledger was found naked and unconscious with pills strewn all around him in an apartment owned by actress Mary-Kate Olsen. What the hell? I'm not a fan of him by any means, but this is sad for his wife and daughter. Should have stayed away from those pills though.
IG-64 Posted January 22, 2008 Author Posted January 22, 2008 What the hell? I'm not a fan of him by any means, but this is sad for his wife and daughter. Should have stayed away from those pills though. I just heard on Fox that that was a false report, and that it wasn't owned by mary-kate olsen. I also heard that cops apparently said that the death was accidental. Though that reports sounding iffy too.
Nerd_Annhilator Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 wow. imdb isnt even updated yet. that was unexpected..
Pho3nix Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Wow, this is actually the first time I'm shocked by a celebrity death. Extremely unexpected. It'll definitely be weird watching The Dark Knight when it premieres...
Mike Windu Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 This blows. Dude was so cool...10 things I hate about you was ballin...
MrWally Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I was at rehearsal when my friend's father texted her to let her know. All it said was: "Heath Ledger is dead." We were in disbelief, but we're all actors and the Director actually insisted that she called him to get details. I'm still in shock. It's such a surprise... and just so sad...
boinga1 Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Woah. That's so random. I didn't realize how young that dude was.
Lorden Darkblade Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 This sucks... He was young and with a promising career. Can't believe he's dead.. I think I'm still shocked by it...
Acrylic Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Doesn't change my life at all. I mean, yeah that sucks, he was a good actor...but I just think about all the other people out there that die that don't necessarily affect my life...and he falls in that category. But anyways, rest in peace mayn. You kicked ass in Brokeback.
Lightsaberboy Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 that sucks. he was rising up in fame and then this. maybe the role took a big toll on him. i heard he locked himself in a hotel room for a month to prepare for the Joker, and he had trouble sleeping afterwards. they prolly won't reshoot any scenes as most of the filming is prolly done already.
Seph Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Batman was finished, he got like 2 hours of sleep because his role as the Joker disturbed him so much. Doesn't affect me but much respect. And that sucks about the kid
Lorden Darkblade Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 I didn't knew that the role disturbed him... What happened exactly?
Sabretooth Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 "WTF" comes to mind simply because this is the most random death I've seen in years. I was starting to love Ledger for being the Joker and he was getting major attention, too - the new Batman movie would have shot him across the world. And out of nowhere, I see Heath Ledger is Dead on Digg. What the ****? I think The Dark Knight is in post-production now, so it should turn out okay, perhaps with a dedication to Ledger. It's going to send up chills up my spine everytime I see the Joker on screen now - the death has only multiplied the new Joker's scariness.
Seph Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Just how demonic the Joker is portrayed he couldn't shake the feeling of how demonic the role was and he had to take 2 ambian(sp?) to get 1 hour of sleep because he couldn't shake the feeling EDIT: Added quote http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/article/ledger%20tortured%20by%20the%20joker_1049631

Because if that's true, The Dark Knight is going to be way cooler than I had thought.
