Commander Obi-Wan Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 So, the name for "Bond 22" has been revealed! IVER HEATH, England (AFP) — "Quantum of Solace" was unveiled Thursday as the title of the next James Bond film at the launch of the superspy's latest adventure. The name for the movie, directed by Marc Forster, and until now provisionally titled "Bond 22", was revealed at Pinewood Studios, west of London, where filming is already underway. "Quantum of Solace" was the name of a short story in Bond creator Ian Fleming's 1960 anthology "For Your Eyes Only". Daniel Craig is reprising his role as 007, following his 2006 debut in "Casino Royale". The new movie will also star Ukrainian model and actress Olga Kurylenko as the new Bond girl, with French actor Mathieu Amalric -- currently starring in "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" -- cast as the main villian. "Quantum of Solace" is set to be released later this year. Interesting name, no doubt. I can't wait for the movie, though. And the new bond girls!
Pho3nix Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 This reminds me. I still haven't watched Casino Royale.
acdcfanbill Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 That short story wasn't even about Bond, he was only in the framing. And the name is kind of crap imho.
Jeff Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 I think its alright, kinda cool I guess. Glad that its a Fleming name at least. Though I haven't read any of the books so I hope the movie is different than what you said the book was like Bill.
leXX Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Wierd name, doesn't sound very Bond like to me but oh well, who cares so long as the film is good. Casino Royale was a great film and Craig makes an awesome Bond. I'm really looking forward to this.
BongoBob Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 The name is kind of "meh" but more bond with Daniel Craig = win IMO Also, Pheonix, watch Casino Royale or I'll hurt you :|
MrWally Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Casino Royale and Diamonds are Forever are the only James Bond movies I've seen, but Casino Royale was incredible.
acdcfanbill Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Diamonds are Forever is kind a poor one to judge based on. Try watching From Russia With Love, Goldfinger. The Spy Who Loved Me, or Goldeneye.
Miltiades Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 This reminds me. I still haven't watched Casino Royale. Me neither. Really should, I guess...
Pho3nix Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Also, Pho3nix, watch Casino Royale or I'll hurt you :| Will do. :3
BongoBob Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Bah, I have no time for your switching of e's for 3's
StormHammer Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 It may have come from Ian Fleming, but this name just doesn't seem to sit very well with the names of the other movies. It doesn't immediately grab you by the throat and scream 'Bond Movie!' in your face, imo. Nevertheless, I have hopes the next outing will be a good blast. I liked Casino Royale - it was time for something a bit fresher and more grounded in the real world, and Daniel Craig did a good job in the lead role.
acdcfanbill Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I completely agree, and welcome back StormHammer
StormHammer Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Thanks bill. This place is like the Hotel California...you can never leave lol.
Commander Obi-Wan Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 *bump* http://www.007.com/ The new trailer is up on a bunch of sites. I'll just link you to the main site. Looks pretty frickin' good. I'm stoked.
BongoBob Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 After watching that trailer I must say, I'm all about it.
Jeff Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 This made me even more hyped about it than I already was.
Lorden Darkblade Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Interesting trailer!!! Let's wait and see now!!
Havoc Stryphe Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 I find myself constantly singing the praises of Casino Royale to my family and friends. I think that film really brought Bond back to basics, and gave him an edge we hadn't seen in a long time. And Daniel Craig added a deep intensity to Bond that really sold me on him. As a result of all that, for once Bond became unpredictable, suspensful, and gripping. So, watching this trailer and knowing it's picking up right where Casino Royale left off... EXACTLY where it left off, I got pretty damn excited, and I'm fairly certain this excitement level isn't going anywhere but up until November gets here.
Darth Groovy Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 There is a Quantum of Solace in my pants. Seriously, I liked Casino Royale, but not sure yet how I feel about Daniel Craig. Sure he's athletic and British, but he's missing some of that smart ass element that made James Bond so damn cool over the years. I know this is supposed to be the "gritty bond", but I miss the wise humor....a lot.
BongoBob Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Grooves, the man had his balls smashed, and was still being a wise ass. I still need to buy Casino Royale on DVD.
