Astrotoy7
Can I use all my old add-ons with FF3? not automagically...you'll need to check whether each add on is FF3 happy. A few of mine arent yet, so FF3 will have to wait Im sure I'll survive. mtfbwya

Miltiades
No, you won't. And neither will I. All but two of my add-ons have been disabled with the upgrade. Oh well, hopefully there'll be some new updates to remedy that soon. Very soon, please! Some ad blockers are no disabled, and I'd like them back as soon as possible. Other than the add-ons, everything looks very good. I like. I like.
Astrotoy7
installed it during a lull.... sure, some nifty changes(the degree of niftiness depending on your browsing habits) Not sure what the palpable excitement is about though. I havent seen some of you this excited since pre EPIII For the sane among us, that just want to know a bit more about it without soiling their cyberpants, heres a handy swflash vid that will launch in your browser explaining some of the key features. http://people.mozilla.com/~beltzner/overview-of-firefox3.swf mtfbwya

Astrotoy7
bleh+sigh //>> No one provided any useful info on what is new for members who are curious or may not have even used FF before. The usefulness of your collective drooling is = 0. Another thing for members to know> if you try FF, and for whatever reason want to go back to FF2(eg. some of your preferred extensions arent compatible yet), you will need to uninstall 3, reinstall 2. You can choose to keep your existing settings/add ons, but just a FYI for those that want to know that. Please note that installing Firefox 3 will overwrite your existing installation of Firefox. You won’t lose any of your bookmarks or browsing history, but some of your extensions and other add-ons might not work until updates for them are made available. some other links people may find useful FF Page Features Page FF3 Release notes you may now resume your nerdish fawning. mtfbwya

Jeff
Well I just downloaded it, not sure if I want to install it or wait for addons to work. I will probably end up installing it today
Char Ell
Downloaded and installed Firefox 3 and it seems to be working fine for me. Yeah, I lost a couple of my add-ons but I don't use add-ons all that much to begin with so it wasn't a big deal.

Samuel Dravis
After using it for a while, I have to say that I have absolutely no idea how I survived without the Awesome bar (enhanced url bar that searches through your history and bookmarks for matches to what you've typed). It is truly awesome. That single feature alone makes me love FF3. Additionally, the memory fixes help it run on my lappy, which only has 512mb RAM. I love that too. All in all, FF3 is a major improvement over FF2 IMO.
Ravnas
Oh Firefox 3, how do I love thee, let me count the ways... 1.Keeping all my favorites from firefox 2 2.Getting rid of those websites I regretted selecting 3.The Cool skin 4.The Ability to switch from Google to Amazon to Wikipedia and Ebay on the search bar 5.Another link to favorite a page 6.A most visited web page option I think I've made my point. Sabretooth
It's decent, I like how it's more responsive and has a smoother feel but: 1. The startup is still slower than I'd like. :/ 2. There aren't any new features worth getting excited about, i.e. it could have been titled Firefox 2.5.
Q
Startup is slow for me as well, Sabre, but I think that is due to the fact that both of our computers are ancient. Overall, FF3 seems to be a nice improvement that I haven't spent enough time tinkering with to figure out what all has been improved.

Aye, but the mark of great performance is when you get great performance on an ancient computer. No point in getting great performance on a cutting-edge demon and claiming "drastic performance improvements!!!!"
HK-42
Theres a firefox 3??? *Quickly opens a new tab to download it* I use both Firefox and IE Hope this one is better than 2 so yes I switched. EDIT: Ok I got it now and it looks great I like the new star on the addressbar you just click to add it to your favorites so far so good EDIT2: Also the addressbar as a search bar is better than 2 if you just type in g in it it leads you to gmail.com but IE is now pissed that Im not its default browser anymore
