Lightsaberboy Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 At work today we had a meeting and they were showing a video demonstrating the manueverability of a russian SU-30MK. That jet was doing some very slick moves in the air flying around, and at one point I said out loud "DO A BARREL ROLL!" instead everyone just kinda stared at me blankly.
Lightsaberboy Posted February 13, 2009 Author Posted February 13, 2009 yeah like that, except the hair didn't stand up.
Jeff Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I have said "fap", like "What's taking him so long?" "He's probably fapping" and people don't get it. I think only Internet people know that word.
Pho3nix Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Go back to /b/. Indeed. I have said "fap", like "What's taking him so long?" "He's probably fapping" and people don't get it. I think only Internet people know that word. Lulz, yeah that's one of the reasons I try to limit my internet 'slang' in the real world, it just gets awkward. Us Finns have no sense of humor so I never make jokes anyway.
IG-64 Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Yeah, but I've tried to make jokes that people would actually get even if they weren't on the internet all day, and people still don't get it. And never try to joke around my brother, he will give only you a dead expression.
Samnmax221 Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 All the time. It's gotten to the point where most people don't know anything about current events (Actually important current events), or basic history, so there goes most of my material right there.

It's gotten to the point where most people don't know anything about current events (Actually important current events), or basic history, so there goes most of my material right there. There's an easy fix to that: just end the joke with a reference to sexual organs. Should work every time.
Pie™ Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Serious post: The internet has desensitized me to a degree where nothing shocks or disturbs me anymore, and as a result of it my humor doesn't always receive positive reactions. This is especially true if my judgment is impaired by alcohol, I've almost gotten myself into big trouble a few times because of some jokes/antics made in very poor taste.
TiE23 Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Go back to /b/. I think you mean YTMND. I think that meme came from there... too bad that place has since pretty much died. Errr... yeah... talk about a boring post...
GeneralPloKoon Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 My jokes are gotten, but are lame...
RoxStar Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Most folks don't understand my obscure history jokes. Or the countless 80s references I make :[

Da_man Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Everything I say always ends in "LOL" "WTF" or "ROFL". However, all of my friends actually get these jokes but no one esle. ROFL.
ET Warrior Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 This has never happened to me, as I am incredibly hilarious and all of my jokes result in hysterics.
Kjølen Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 When I was an undertaker, I could never get the punchlines of my jokes right. I would have, but I couldn't stop coffin'.

Det. Bart Lasiter Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 The Barrel Roll fad comes from the 1997 Nintendo flying simulator/space combat game Starfox 64. It came from a phrase that one of the character's main wingmen, Peppy Hare, repeated throughout the game. The fad may have been started by members from the Life, Universe, and Everything board on GameFAQs. no you werent
