Astor Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 well, I dont walk, I mince... but that's a different story I wondered what the 'q' meant...
Yar-El Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 We have powerful friends XD And here they are -
Prime Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Prime, you have no clique. You are the envy of every man and the dream of every woman, and some men, too.Clearly. Imagine if, in fact, I was the one who set up all these cliques and was controlling them to make outsiders bitter for my own amusement... But that is too crazy to be true.
Q Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I find it rather interesting that the vast majority of the people who have and are now spamming this thread with their scorn aren't even the ones who normally exhibit the behavior that I'm griping about. You're doing an excellent job of providing a convenient smoke-screen for those who do to hide behind, though.
Astor Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I find it rather interesting that the vast majority of the people who have and are now spamming this thread with their scorn aren't even the ones who normally exhibit the behavior that I'm bitching about. You're doing an excellent job of providing a convenient smoke-screen for those who do to hide behind, though. I'm still not even sure what behaviour you're referring to. Could you possibly elaborate? Maybe then I'll understand what the problem is. EDIT: Because, after all, if i'm one of the 'accused', and having accusations levelled at me, i'd like know exactly i'm accused of, and why.
Q Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 No, Astor, I'm not accusing you of anything. I already explained it in post #54 on the previous page. It's not the elitism that bothers me, really. That's just human nature. Immature human nature, to be sure, but still just human nature and as such totally understandable. It's the official sanction that it receives from certain members (by no means a majority) of the staff and the deletion of any and all evidence pertaining to said sanction that I'm talking about. I freely recognize that most of the people here are not part of the problem, which is why I'm still here. Otherwise I wouldn't be, trust me.
Lynk Former Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 @ Qliveur: Please tell us all you know in dot point form. You don't need proof, but if you really want to expose what is apparently the cancer of LFN... then please. Take the first step and list it clearly that even a monkey in a bath tub playing with a rubber ducky can understand in your next post. You never replied to me. I gave you an opportunity to expose the cancer within LFN and even said you didn't need any proof. I want specifics.
Q Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I did reply to you, if not directly. See post #54. And, no, I don't think that you're part of the problem, either.
Yar-El Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Lets get back to reality. Do you know how easy it is to deal with this stuff? *Click - Power Off* You just have to click the off button, and everything will go away nice and shiny. Is there a clique of moderators and visitors? Sure there is. Starting post of the original thread comes off like the whose who of Lucasforums.com. It doesn't surprise me that there is one; however, I kind of wish they didn't stick up for each other. Average visitors come in and complain about some of them, and the moderators jump to their friend's defence. Can anyone on the outside do anything about it? Not directly. I know of three people on that list who should have been banned, and I know who comes to their defence on a daily basis. I will be witness in saying I have seen some balanced justice at times; however, I have never seen the rules be tightened to the equivalency of absolute. Proof that being a veteran doesn't mean you get a free pass: Achilles *Click - Power Off*
Q Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I would just like everyone to know that the irony of the above post is not lost on me. And Achilles was banned because he decided to use a sledgehammer in dealing with this very issue. The posts concerning that occurence were, of course, conveniently deleted as well.
Det. Bart Lasiter Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 when I battle chimps I usually have a line of longbowmen screened by halberdiers, once the chimps break I ride them down with light cavalry. It always eventually comes down to a duel with the chimp's bestial leader however, but since they can only use simple tools I easily dispatch him with my hanzo steel

Then perhaps now might be the appropriate time for these issues to be addressed, seeing as things appear to be coming to a head.
Q Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I'm trying, and in the most civilized manner that I can manage.
Yar-El Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 The only thing visitors can do is report posts, or they can send a private message to a moderator or admin. Its out of our hands at that point. What can you do? You trust those in charge to make honest choices. Are they supporting their friend, or are they supporting the wellbeing of the forums? I have seen some justice served out; thus, I can't complain about too much of an imbalance. I take the word of the moderator or admin who is dealing with the issue. They say everything is fine, I have to believe they are being truthfull. Then perhaps now might be the appropriate time for these issues to be addressed, seeing as things appear to be coming to a head. I don't think there is an absolute answer outside of what I mentioned. You could try talking at legnth with a moderator.
Lynk Former Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I did reply to you, if not directly. See post #54. Bleah *reads* I occasionally get strange PM's from certain members, some of who wish they had never sent them despite me not caring the slightest. At most I'll think it's strange in a funny way and dismiss it. I've had plenty of my posts deleted too and I'm a Supermod lol. I think in that badge thread the deleted posts go... Sabretooth, jmac7142, Scar Da Kookee, Lynk Former, Da_man, Yar-El, Rogue Nine, Scar Da Kookee, jmac7142 and then finally you, Qliveur. As for the jester badge itself, I do agree that the bar is set too high for that badge, I also agree that deleting posts isn't very good and argued that point a long time ago to a point where I got so upset that I left LFN for over a year. If you really don't like DI that much you can always put him on your ignore list with whoever else you feel you don't want to have to deal with. I can understand being sick and tired of other peoples asshattery, I really can. I think what it comes down to is that there are so many people around in here within and outside of the staff who have a view of how this place should be run. I argue and debate with other staff all the time but just because I don't agree with some of their methods doesn't exactly make them elitists or immature. ...on the subject of immaturity, I'm guilty as charged... and I can safely say that I can be even more immature than any of the suspect elitists too. Actually, it is your assuption based on incomplete information that is false... Seems like a lot of people here have incomplete information by the looks of it... And, no, I don't think that you're part of the problem, either. Now I wish I was, it's more interesting being the troublemaker
Yar-El Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I think in that badge thread the deleted posts go... Sabretooth, jmac7142, Scar Da Kookee, Lynk Former, Da_man, Yar-El, Rogue Nine, Scar Da Kookee, jmac7142 and then finally you, Qliveur. I walked away from the thread at that point. I took the deletion as your post was not good enough. I walked away with thinking my posts were not welcomed in there; thus, I glossed over Jae's reasoning behind the deletion. Why bother nominating anyone if it doesn't mater?
Rogue Nine Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Sorry, it had to be done. I know of three people on that list who should have been banned, lol i know of someone here who should have been banned
Yar-El Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I keep saying this to everyone. Kick people around, large amounts of people walk away, and you no longer have any forums. This goes for moderators, admins, myself, and other forumites. lol i know of someone here who should have been banned Praise from Ceaser.

I walked away with thinking my posts were not welcomed in there; thus, I glossed over Jae's reasoning behind the deletion. Why bother nominating anyone if it doesn't mater? So you assumed that your posts weren't welcome. It's entirely possible your recommendation was rejected, and removed to keep the thread clear.
Yar-El Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 So you assumed that your posts weren't welcome. It's entirely possible your recommendation was rejected, and removed to keep the thread clear. Oh yeah. I made an assumption. Sure. It doesn't mean I made the right one; however, I did draw a conclusion from how I felt at the moment. I felt my opinion was rejected. I'm not a robot.
Lynk Former Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I can see where Yar-El is coming from. One of the points I argued with the other mods awhile ago is that deleting posts may seem fine with us, but different members are going to react badly to it in different ways, some won't care, but others aren't going to understand the reasoning behind it. That said, no, the posts in that thread weren't deleted for the reasons you think they were. Also... LOL @ Niner posting his own picture XD

That said, no, the posts in that thread weren't deleted for the reasons you think they were. Also... LOL @ Niner posting his own picture XD I agree. On both counts. Moderators and admins may have extremely good reasons to delete posts; however, we all respond to actions emotionally. It gets in the way of rational reasoning, and people are driven into thinking the opposite of what is being conveyed. We end up ignoring moderator and admin posts. Why? We took offense. We then become enraged and emotional, and then the can of worms explodes.

But, they maybe should have given explanations as to why recommendations were rejected, or posts deleted.
