I'm changing....and losing interest fast. A possible farewell.

I'm 19 now, and I have a real job working at UPS.

I have a great respect now for UPS employees. They arn't "mailmen" at all.

Right now, after 90 days, I'll be making $10.00 an hour, they pay for my college, my hospital bills, "eye" bills, and they pay 80% of your dental. They also use that 401k thing, and retirment plans. You get +$1.00 per year of employment. They also have that stock ownership plan.

I might be promoted to a Supervisor within a month and get double pay and instant benefits plus 2 weeks vacation right off the bat.

You can make about 30-40ish dollars an hour working there.

Also, I got a job there that others normally have to wait a YEAR to get. They say I have the "part-time dream job" of UPS.

I have been involved with so much online with games and etc. I have been in DSC (Dark Spire Clan) for 5 years now. Online has been a major part of my life...but now... I'm changing. I'm losing interest in everything. Everything I did online, all the tournament wins, everything....it's pointless now. Worthless...just a waste of time. Before, I thought never getting online to play around would drive me nuts, but now I'm gone from 10am to 10pm and it doesn't bother me one bit.

I've grown so independent over the last few years.

I guess it's growing up...but it's just amazing how my interests have shifted so quickly. I'm still planning on going into computer programming...but it's just...the gaming community for me has dissappeared. I'll play a game or two everyonce in awhile...but it doesnt mean what it used to mean to me.

I'm set for life. Got a great job, going to college, and my life has changed in a big way.

I don't know if I'll be back here as often as I used to be now...so just in case, farewell to everyone. Enjoy your life while you can, to a degree. Make the right decisions and choices, and don't make any you'll regret.

May God lead my every step.

-Jared

Hey RptheHotrod what can brown do for you

This quote must be true because it sounds that you are very happy at your UPS job. YOu sound good at what you do and you like it. That is very unique most people hate there jobs but they have to do it. For you your job is amusing it has lifted you're spirit to bigger and better things. Someday you will have a nice wife kids a house of your own. And you will think back on the time you were involved with computers so much smile and say i accomplished a lot in my life and you realize that you didnt leave because you were forced to you left because you chose too. You wanted change and you got it and that is special:)

Remember there are two kinds of people in this world those who think cuincedinces just happen out of the blue they think that it was never meant to be it just happened.

Then there are the people who believe. They believe that miracles happen they believe that someone is watching them someone who has made this miracle possible and that person is God:) and i believe that this happening in your life is a mirracle and i congratulate you to the fullest have a great time in the real mans world

(this may be suprising hearing this from a 12 year old but i have faith and i believe all these things ive mentioned and with that i sya it doesnt matter if you heard it from a 90 year old or a 9 year old its what is said that should matter and its true.)

My fullest regards

You know, some things are going well in this world.

RpTheHotrod, you've done what so many have yet to do; change your life and you're happy with it. I'm glad you've learned what's really important to you, and what you've done is independence that we should all aspire for.

Good luck man, and we'll see you around some time.

I hate that type of sterotyping. I think there's fate, but I dont neccisarilly a God. Thus you have 3 sterotypes. And counting.

Oh well, just dont come crying back to us when you get fired.:p

Didn't know ya, but best of luck to you anyway. Somehow though, I can't help but feel that when you lose interest in those things you described, you trade pleasure for stress.

Sociology teaches us that those whose lives do not conform to the norms of society will eventually become so difficult that it is nearly impossible to survive without conforming. History has shown that the most successful people in the world have been those that conform the easiest, so there's my helpful information for today. I say again, best of luck. It's a cruel, cruel world out there.
