Die Another Day
I was clearing out my loft the other day when I found the most amazing thing - an intact (if slightly battered) SEGA MegaDrive II, complete with a copy of Sonic The Hedgehog. After getting all exited and plugging in the unit, I started to play what I can remember being an absolutely perfect game. I mean, it's the first ever Sonic game! How surprised was I to find this game to be complete rubbish! I know it's old, and I took that into account, but I was wondering how the hell I was entertained as a young boy by guiding a 2-dimensional character along a bland, lifeless enviroment. Even if this game was released in the Middle Ages it would have been rubbish! So, how many of you have found classics to be terrible? Or do you enjoy playing a MegaDrive now, surrounded by the latest technology such as PlayStation2s, GameCubes and PCs? Can you really compare Sonic The Hedgehog to the latest releases? toms
some still work, some dont. i got a snes emulator on a whim and i ended up playing straight through Chrono Trigger (which i only downloaded to see what it was, as i had never heard of it) from start to finish. One of my favorite games of all time now.

BCanr2d2
At the time, I was a devotee of Moon Patrol, and was lucky enough to get through it in it's entirety a couple of times..... Now that I would look at it, the old side scroller, bland and repetitive background, and enemies. I would struggle to be drawn to be playing it. And Virtual Nintendo. Those are oldies but I still like the games more than the new super technology games:) . I say keep it, play it for a while. And when it gets so totally boring. Pass it on to your kids:p

[RAA]-=Chi3f=-
Originally posted by Darth Groovy Street Fighter II: Turbo!!!! Now your talkin' baby!!!! "Yoga Fire!!!!" Shin-ryu-ken! Yeah, those were the days. Nothing beat the SNES. We used to have SFII parties during the summer. I have ZSNES and I found it to be quite enjoyable playing the classics like Super Metroid, Legend of Zelda, the Mario games. In those days I think game developers focused more on entertainment than today's "Ours has 5 more FPS at 4X AA" It's all about game play and fun for me. Games like Castlevania, which I have played many times, are just plain fun! Also, FFVII is the only Final Fantasy game that I've played more than once (3 times); It's the only one I've played well over 99 hours. When I hear a track from either game I can imagine almost every location and event from the games. Now that's lasting appeal! 10 years from now I don't see any ORIGINAL games really worth playing Top 10 favorite games They may not be the best, but they've given my buddies and me the best memories (and that's all that matters) Castlevania Super Metroid Final Fantasy VII Street Fighter II Turbo The Legend of Zelda Blades of Steel Fatal Fury Tekken Tag Super Mario Bros. Die Another Day
How can you people all love your terrible, ancient systems?! I'm far too much into my PlayStation2 to care about my MegaDrive or even my PlayStation (the best, and probably most successful, games console ever). Games like Sonic The Hedgehog belong in a museum, whereas my three top games of all time deserve REAL playing! 1: James Bond 007 - NightFire. 2: Hitman 2 - Silent Assassin. 3: Star Wars - Bounty Hunter.
