BongoBob Posted February 16, 2004 Posted February 16, 2004 While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction and there's nothing you can do about it. ERG! I ALMOST DID IT WITHOUT CHANGING
Sivy Posted February 16, 2004 Posted February 16, 2004 i must be weird cause i did it straight away... does it make a difference if you're left handed?
Jedi Luke Posted February 16, 2004 Posted February 16, 2004 Originally posted by Siv i must be weird cause i did it straight away... does it make a difference if you're left handed? I don't think it does. The fact that you have the co-ordination to do it is the the effort and skill.
[RAA]-=Chi3f=- Posted February 16, 2004 Posted February 16, 2004 I had no problem with right foot and right hand, but my foot twitched a little hand and left foot. right hand+ right foot = no prob right hand+ left foot = no prob left hand+ left foot = lag left hand+ right foot = no prob I'm ambidextrous, though, so my motor-skills are a little different. I can write with both hands and feet forwards and backwards and put sentences together (start left hand while right hand writes the end backwards and they meet in the middle)
Astrotoy7 Posted February 16, 2004 Posted February 16, 2004 This is a very simple demonstration of a very complex phenomenon occuring in the sensorimotor system. We did this in uni...... basically, some ppl have the ability to 'separate' different sensory and motor(muscle action) information streams that are travelling to/from the brain. Some ppl do have the ability to do it better naturally, however it is something which can be practised and learnt..... MTFBWYA ps- astro is a physical therapist during sunlight hours....
RoxStar Posted February 16, 2004 Posted February 16, 2004 I can do it with my right leg and foot but not my left.
Reaper Girl Posted February 16, 2004 Posted February 16, 2004 Bongo, where do you get these ideas? The voices? I see.... *trys* ... *hates you*
dark jedi 8 Posted February 16, 2004 Posted February 16, 2004 didn't have much of a problem with the right foot/hand as the left but still got it.
Kain Posted February 16, 2004 Posted February 16, 2004 I can do it. Its just like that whole patting rubbing deally.
IG-64 Posted February 16, 2004 Posted February 16, 2004 Originally posted by [RAA]-=Chi3f=- I had no problem with right foot and right hand, but my foot twitched a little hand and left foot. right hand+ right foot = no prob right hand+ left foot = no prob left hand+ left foot = lag left hand+ right foot = no prob I'm ambidextrous. I'm the same... up to that point...
[RAA]-=Chi3f=- Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 I didn't use any other appendages, if that's what you're implying
Agen Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 I can do it but when I do it fast.... It's hard.

Jedi Luke Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 Ok, now that we've all mastered it (except for Bob, , j/k), here's the new challenge: Try sitting on your own lap. Once that's done, try licking your ear. Good luck, there's something to keep you guys amused.

Mike Windu Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 I did it like first try... too easy Sitting in your lap: easy licking your ear: easy Here's a challenge: fit your entire BODY into your mouth! Do you see yourself coming out of your own mouth? If so you performed the manuever correctly.
Nerd_Annhilator Posted February 17, 2004 Posted February 17, 2004 Well, the first try was unsuccessful, but the second try was a disaster. I'm still trying to un-knot myself. Easy.
