Clemme w/Stick Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 Meh. I'm able to watch both Wide and Fullscreen. I prefer fullscreen though. -Clemme
Kain Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 I vote MEH because I could care less, as long as the movie is good... EP 1 and EP 2...not good...
Crazy_dog no.3 Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 Widescreen. You see more and fullscreen just looks like crap. Anyway here in the UK u don't have the choice between widescreen or fullscreen. All DVDs I've seen over here are widescreen.

swphreak Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 It depends. If I have a Widescreen TV, then I'd pick Widescreen. If not, Full Screen. Those black lines just annoy the hell outta me.
txa1265 Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 Originally posted by Boba Rhett Nothing? Lets not go overboard on the Star Wars lurve. There is *no* film about which there is *nothing* wrong. That doesn't make them bad. Personally, EpII is my favorite of the five, and EpI my least favorite (despite having some of the best saber battles and songs). That's just a matter of taste. As for the wide-full. I'm definitely widescreen, but my family generally prefers the fullscreen. Why? Look at the comparison pics - I prefer seeing the whole frame, but the characters themselves are smaller. Mike
StormHammer Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 Widescreen all the way for me. I prefer to see everything in a scene, rather than focusing on particular areas over which I have no control. Besides, it makes sense to get the best out of your widescreen TV...

Since we share the same DVD's usually (Zone 2/4 are both PAL zones), there are no "fullscreen DVDs" All of them are widscreen. That includes ones like Apocalypse Now, and the LOTR movies, which are well beyond the 1.78:1 (16:9) widescreen ratio. That no matter how wide the widescreen TV is, there are significant black bars on it.
SeleneRayne Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 It dosen't really matter to me, just the movie that matters. But it appears that widescreen gives you a better view, but it has those black lines. So meh!

ET Warrior Posted May 4, 2004 Author Posted May 4, 2004 MORE evidence proving the evils of fullscreen
Master_Ginn Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 Everybody is always complaining about the big black lines at the top and bottom of the screen. I don't even see them. I used to notice them but once the movie started it was gone. I think you just need to keep watching widescreen to get accustomed to it. Like now i notice fullscreen more than widescreen and it's black lines.

It's so true, I remember when I first started watching widescreen, how silly I thought it was and annoying those black bars were. I don't see them anymore either.
jokemaster Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 I remember when I had a tiny 10 inch TV, HOW I HATED THE BLACK BARS! Now that I have a widescreen TV, I don't mind em.

jokemaster Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 Originally posted by --ZeeMan-- they make that small????? Sorry, 10 inch SCREEN, and my parents wouldn't let me connect the PS2 to the main TV, cause I'd hog it all the time. FInally we reached a compromise and got a widescreen tv.
DarkLord60 Posted May 4, 2004 Posted May 4, 2004 Widescreens better I cant stand missing half the picture
