Doomie
Yep, i'm bored again. Well, the title says it all. I'd say Beyond good and evil had the best music for me. Rules: (Like we need any) Demo's count. Soundtracks count. A game your friend has and he played in your presence counts. Everything counts, as long as you heard it and know what game it's from. Let's see how many people post before it gets locked up...
Darth Homer
Ok, does GTA3 count 'cause you could play your own music? It's not actually a soundtrack...

That and Battlefield Vietnam were going to be my choices. Flying into battle in a Huey with CCR or Flight of the Valkyries blaring from the helicopter is kickass. PR-0927
Hahahaha!! The best music in video games is KotOR (Knights of the Old Republic), which recieved tons of awards for best music in a video game. It is sweet, I downloaded the soundtrack off of the internet, 49 tracks, they rock!!

Tyrion
1. Final Fantasy VII. Yes yes, I have a Cloud avatar and pretty much obsessed with FFVII...but meh, it's still cool. I can't get the Jenova battle music out, nor One Winged Angel. 2. Arcanum. Holy crap is it some good music. It's classical, but feels more modern at the same time. If you ever played it, you can agree that Demise of the Zephyr(played in the opening movie) is ultra great. 3. Kotor. What can I say, I like the mellowness of Ahto City and Taris. The battle music didn't impress me much, though. 4. Farcry. The techno beat in it isn't bad at all. 5. Starcraft. The music for the Terrans is pretty good. topshot
Hmmm. Well, nothing like a bit of good ol' Smash Brothers. That Donkey Kong rap is tight! Can't dis the All-Star intro, either..... Listening to Bond while playing Jedi Outcast and Academy isn't too bad either, especially when you've got the "Essentials" disc!

GonkH8er
Interstate 76. No question about it. 70's funk music bascially, the game producers went to arion salazar, the bass player from third eye blind, and told him they wanted some funk music. So he formed a little group with some friends, which they called Bullmark. Basically, the I'76 soundtrack is the stuff that Bullmark churned out. All the songs are in cd audio format on the game cd, so the games worth buying just for the soundtrack You can probably pick it up in a second hand game bin for $5 or $10. Great game too. Pity the net servers arent up anymore. Anyway, some of the musics so good I actually arranged it for my funk band, and it's part of our regular repertoire. My other top few favourite soundtracks would have to be Quake 2 (KILLER soundtrack!), Deus Ex, and Return Fire. For anyone who hasnt played return fire, it's a top down vehicular capture the flag game. I can't find any good screenshots of it, but here's a dodgy one heh, the bases are peppered with tents that you can run over which make *squish* noises and blood comes out of them, and little black sillhouettes of people are seen running from exploded buildings. They can be squished too, with muchos blood but basically, instead of the kind of hardcore game music you'd expect from a war game, they chose to use classical pieces, and it works EXTREMELY well. when you are flying the helicopter it plays ''Flight of the Valkyries'', when you are in the jeep the ''Overture of 1812'' plays, when you take the flag it switches to the ''William Tell Overture'' as youre trying to frantically get away in this pissy little jeep that blows up in 1 hit. Either that or flight of the bumblebee. I cant remember which. I think it's in there too. Either way, the classical music adds a read comic overtone to the whole game. It's really quite funny. The split screen multiplayer is a LOT of fun. Everyone should try and get their hands on a copy of return fire. It's an old game, so itll be floating round in a 2nd hand bin real cheap. BCanr2d2
Only two really grab me, one is Quake - being Trent Reznor of NIN fame, wondered why the nail ammo had NIN on them???!!! Also I think it was one of the later X-Wing games, had basically got all of the good space battle music from all the SW movies and had looped them, very, very good. Doomie
Alright, this is my list. (Originally i planned on making one choice but i see most people have a hard time choosing, so i will also make a list.) 1. BG&E 2. Morrowind. 2. Metroid prime. (And also the 'zebes' level in Super smash brothers melee, wich has gotten the same theme.) 2. Halo. 2. All starwars games. Hmmmm, actually, after BG&E they're all on a shared second place... I'm a huge starwars freak, but Beyond Good & Evil, Damn... the music almost brought a tear to my eye... (Plus it annoys the heck out of my brother, but so does starwars music...)
