Acrylic
This will be the OFFICIAL SWAMP : DS vs. PSP THREAD. *ahem* This thread is where you cna cast you're vote on what you're getting, and debating on what you think is better and why. EDIT: I'm going to get the DS first. On account of it has better battery life, more titles I'm interested in, its really innovative, and its cheaper. Then, once the price of the PSP drops to either $200 or $150, I will get the PSP.
Pie™
I don't have the economic means to get any of them :/
ET Warrior
I have no desire to drop money for handheld gaming, I'll stick with my bulky consoles and computer
KBell
I find handheld gaming to be extremely pointless, so my answer is neither
ZBomber
Not sure.... I'll wait a while before I get any of them.
Mike Windu
I might get the DS, cause it's a hell of alot more innovative.
txa1265
I voted for both ... but it might be neither ... it really depends on the games. I have the means, and I actually prefer it to playing console (but *not* to PC). Mike
El Sitherino
I said both, because I hope to get both, I love handheld systems because I go on lots of trips. And now that I'm graduated, I have a lot of free time to go on trips so... It all depends on which has the most games at the time I decide to purchase, as to which one I get first. Sam
DS. Many other handhelds tried to compete with Nintendo over the years, most of them had better hardware. You know how many of those companies got even close to making Nintendo flinch? 0 Nintendo owns the handheld market. They can make bad choices all the want for consoles but handheld is where Nintendo shines! (Gonna get both anyway though.)
Nerd_Annhilator
Right now I WANT a PSP, but I'm going to read the reviews before buying either.

Astrotoy7
when you tour the world making porn like me, handhelds are good to have on a plane.... I love my GBA SP, but the DS looks like, what Rhett beautifully described - a Tonka Toy.... plus the idea of plugging it into the GC doesnt faze me...never done this with my GBA anyways.... I like the looks of the PSP, the fact that it has licenses with square and THQ, so will end up with a final fantasy title(its already getting FF7 AC) and a Dynasty Warriors title make it even more appealing. Im sure it will also have some sports titles I can get stuck into, I love Tiger Woods 2004 on my GBA....Im going to Thailand in a month or so, so Im looking forward to playing it a bit more on the plane The price will be an issue, but Astro *never* gets things full price, y'all know that... mtfbwya

Not sure if it counts to be riding in the animal part of the circus caravan with a video camera . But hey, you wax that zebra ass to your hearts contempt . I don't know why there are 2 thread that are similar but, whateva. I like what the PSP is promising, but I have never really been a handheld gamer . I had one of those big ass old school gray game boys back in the day. I didn't really play that all that much. I actually left it in my closet with the batteries in and this crusted over . I like to more 'entertainment' capabilities of the PSP. But, I am po, so what do I know :/
coupes.
NDS doen't look like a tonka toy... even if it did, I don't see how it would be a good reason not to get it.

ZBomber
I'll probably end up buying DS because I don't want PSP to beat Nintendo in Handheld.... Nintendo may not rule in the living room console area, but they should in hand-held gaming!
Astrotoy7
The DS pic I saw from E3 was blue and looked toyish, that nice shiny one looks OK, but it still perhaps seems big for something with relatively small screen space.... The fact that it folds is cool. This is the main thing Im worried about with the PSP, with the screen always being exposed its much easier to get it scratched etc.... My GBA has all sorts of little marks on it on the outside but inside the screen is still in perfect condition. Im still leaning towards the PSP in a huge way.... Troop, you know Shetland Ponies and Zebras are capable of mating and having offspring........I have it on video...... j/k mtfbwya

Pad
The only thingy to play with is a gameboy I have since, well, 94 or so . And thats probably the only one I ever will have. A pc is more then enough for me.

jokemaster
HMMM....I'm gonna wait for more info before I make my choice. On the one hand, the DS comes with all the Nintendo franchises built in, is more innovative, and will most likely be cheaper, have longer battery life, and come out before PSP. On the other hand the PSP is supposed to have better graphics, and has a Metal Gear game coming out for it. Eh, I'll probably sell my GBA, buy a DS, and later buy a PSP.
