Tokarev
http://www.cnn.com/2005/EDUCATION/04/04/no.more.red.ap/index.html It's always something within our society that something should be forbidden because god forbid, it's evil!

Dagobahn Eagle
If they're concerned for the child's safety, crack down on schools that practice corporal punishment, teachers who refuse to let a bursting kid go to the restroom, teachers bullying students, students bullying students, and other stuff like that. Gee, they make it sound like their school is a perfect Heaven without any sort of problem but this red ink...
El Sitherino
... That is retarded. Then again the classes I did bad in the teachers used colors like green and crap. Odd, most of my positive comments teachers used red. Red is psychologically the color of passion, I think it's actually a plus if used for criticism, it shows intense interest in the thing.... *shrugs* I'm rambling now, so whatever. ET Warrior
I heard about this like, a year ago. Not this particular article of course, but people were talking about how red is negative and blah blah blah. The stupid thing is that the REASON red is negative is because it's the color we USE to denote bad. It's a human convention. If we started using green to mark wrong answers or bad grades then GREEN would be the same thing. It are dumb.
Neverhoodian
Pffffft, if parents think using red ink to grade elementary school papers is bad, they really need to put things into perspective. Red is used because it's a bold and eye-catching color. Other colors simply aren't as good for standing out from what the student has written. If their kids ever take honors classes for high school, these parents will really know what it's like for their kids to undergo stress. I swear, those teachers used enough red ink in a single semester to fill an Olympic swimming pool.

F- Yeah. What IG said on both counts. What's the problem? Parents are so God damned scared of having stupid kids they need to...nevermind. Give all of these little retarded bastards little smily faces and glittery gold stars for every F and D they make. That should make the world a nicer place for puppy dogs, cotton candy, rainbows, and clowns everywhere.

Doomie
I believe their reasoning was that red was a stressful colour, and therefor, other colours must be used to give markings. Bull****.
