warchild75 Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 I am fairly new to this but have noticed that not a lot of people post in the evening is this bcoz there are a lot of youngsters using these forums.So a big hello to all those slightly older sw fans out there. Ps I have also noticed that i am bantha foder where other people are sith lords and the like is this down to how many posts you make?.

Smilodon Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Go to user cp -> Edit Options -> Change Avatar -> there should be some fields at the bottom of the page where you can specify your custom avatar. Don't know if it's tied to a certain number of posts you need to have though

Did you not think of time difference, some people hear are from USA, England like me, Austrila etc.

Which if like me I have two jobs both of which are at a desk with good ole' Microsoft Outlook. I just log in if I'm free for a sec. to read then. So for me I'm on all throughout the day for a few secs. here and there. The avatars you can get from a certain number of posts and it will tell you on the page to the best of my recollection you need so many posts to load your own. If your a designer like I am or know one or can find one, we upload anything from one like mine with a uncommon picture and some custom gradient shading on the edges. You'll see others that have custom shapes and other effects which are done within the saving as a .gif from a painting program constraint. (or a gif animation maker.) (my personal favorite is Holowan Labs own moderator Prime's "moderatin' samuri" icon which had a head turn animation that was very kewl looking )

You can upload any avatar you wish as long as it's no larger than 70x70 pixels and under 20kb in size Animations are a pain in the arse (I made up curse words trying to get mine right... hehehe).... but I'm pretty sure there's no post 'quota' to upload personal avatars Oh yeah, and I'm one of those 'children' Darth333 speaks of... MdK hmmm... go to: User Cp > Edit Options (user CP is at the very top of each forum page to your left) scroll down to the very bottom and click the change avatar button... From there, again, scroll down to the very bottom and choose 1 of the 2 available options... 1) enter an URL of your avatar 2) upload an avatar from your computer it's been my best option to upload an avatar from your computer as some websites incorporate "disabling hot-linking" which will prevent the system from finding the avatar... Just save the avatar (from a site) to your desktop, then use the upload option Be especially sure that your image is no larger than 70x70px and no larger than 20kb...

( @ ChAiNz) I uploaded a custom avatar to my profile when I had something in the neighborhood of 5 or 6 posts so I can confirm that a high post count isn't required to customize one's avatar.
