Star Wars Galaxies

I just recently downloaded the 10-day Free Trial. I like it so far, but I

also have some questions. If you've played the game before, you might

be disappointed that I picked the formerly hard-to-attain profession of

Jedi. However, as far as I know, KOTOR III isn't coming out anytime

soon, and I love my Star Wars fix! :) As a Jedi...

--Can I take the Redemptive path and fall to the Dark Side, and

then return to the Light?

--Piloting is confusing. Any tips?

--Is this game really worth 15 bucks a month if I enjoyed KOTOR I

and II immensely?

Thanks!

Star Wars? Galaxies doesn't have anything to do with Star Wars.

Besides the Jedi.

Have to agree, I played it for about a month than got sick of it. And this was before they made Jedi a common place profesion. This is against Star Wars as well, because not anyone can just become a Jedi. Sony just wickened to the cries of fans and now its a common place career.

Im not quite sure about your questions though. I wouldnt pay 15 dollars a month to play it, I dont think its worth it that much.

For piloting, I found it way easier to do when I plugged in a joystick or some other kind of game controller.

pay to play sucks. simple as that. Esepecially if you're the type of person thats likely to not play something for 6 months and then go back to it... too damn busy :(

I havent played galaxies and I dont plan to.

The new "Trials of Obi Wan" expansion looks wierd. There seems to be a saber toting Alec Guiness(in ghost form) and an army of HK-47s - all on Mustafar... quite bizarre :(

Galaxies? One of the Worst games ever. Because of games like that we don't get games that lack the things Galaxy has. And those are: Mixing genres, Vehicles, Large maps to explore, High Interactivity with the enviorment and so much more that if I counted them all, I would become a woman (Right. It will never happen, because I am a male, right?).

I hate the damn thing. It is just another one of those 'ideas' and creations that turn Lucas Arts more and more into EA games (Proof: Rushed TSL). I wish that it would be buried and trashed on the junk yard where it belongs.

That's one of the reasons why I sugest mixing genres in KOTOR 3 (strategy and so): To bury Galaxies as junk as it is. Also to make something that will punch EA into their face as well to make them piss off and leave us all alone.

C'mon gang Galaxies isn't that bad, I actually rather enjoy it. Its become alot better since they put all of the New Game Enhancements in. Would I say its as good as KOTOR....no, but it is alot of fun, especially since you are able to do basically whatever you want, not to mention it combines space combat with ground combat, which is pretty sweet, and you can fight for the Empire, Rebellion, or criminal factions.

To answer your question Tysyacha, you can choose to either follow the dark path, or the light, depending on certain quests which you undertake in game, but you won't be able to do that until your at least a level 30 or higher, other than that im not totally sure about the Jedi Profession, because Im not a member of that player class.

Space combat is tricky at first, but you get used to it, and its actually kind of fun.

If your lookin to level up quickly at a low level 1-15 stick to planets like Tatooine, and Naboo, most of the characters and creatures that you fight are all under lvl 20. When you get into the 20's and 30's move onto Kashyyyk, and Dantooine.

I've played some MMO's, including Glaxies.

Compared to everything else on the market, it's crap.

The graphics are awfully old, and flying isn't a test of skills, but of who has the biggest upgrades.

Also, there is a chronical lack of medics...

I was just a 'normal' game compared to the Cool WoW and Beautifull Guild Wars out there.

I know Galaxies is older, but Bioware also released a patch for Kotor 1 that added a higher resolution. They could do that too.

In my opinion:

Galaxies is a lame product of LA's money-fetishists. It just...doesn't bring anything new :s

oh, by the way, i forgot:

My mate has al the SW facttfiles, and knows tons of stuff about SW.

When i talked about 'the HK-betrayal case' , said it was impossible.

I don't know when galaxies finds place, but our beloved hard breathing Darth Vader destroys Mustafar after the 'Obi-Accident'.

And a 5000 years old (Not even rusty yet.) HK-47 on mustafar.

Nuf said.

*=I actually play Guild Wars, and it's not beacause it's free. I've tried some of the other mmo's, but just the trials or beta's.

Im sorry but HK-47 was not Sony's to touch. He was Kotor property, and now that we know he lives for like a gizzillion years it ruins any chance of him possibly dieing or anything of that nature in Kotor 3. It would have made Kotor 3 more sad and dramatic for something to happen to him. But no... Sony just couldnt resist, they only put him there so players who liked kotor will buy this game and play it until they can get their levels up to even go to Mustafar and then realize this game is crap after paying about 6 months of monthly charges.
