What type of games do you play constantly?

I thought this would an intresting (fun) question. I found that more PC game players play stretegy based games than anything else.

What type of games do you like to play?

Since i only have a (good) computer and DSL since summer 2004, i'm kinda trying to recover what i have missed.

I'm into shooters atm, but i'm mainly an RPG-player.

Strategy games are very cool too, but i lack experience in that type of game.

Ztalker:

50% RPG (Kotor, Morrowind, NvN, Fable)

35% Shooter (Battlefield 2, CS:S, UT2k4 )

15% Strategy (C&C, BFME)

Since I pretty much work in front of a computer all day... it can get "old" real quick..

So when i actually do to get to play on a computer, I want it to be an engrossing experience.. so I'd have to say RPG's & Strategy all the way... probably about a 80% / 20% split respectively...(when I'm not modding, hehehe ;) )

I am a Strategy and RPG person. I like to play those 'Gallactic Battlegound' type of games. You have control over an army, and you build up resources. Those types of games are pretty cool. :)

Most of the time I play FPS', I play CoD2 a ton, BF2, BF2 SF, just recently got Doom 3, HL2, and I just started playing Americas Army again.

I also play a few RTS', and the Ocasional RPG. Big Madden fan, so I play alot of sports games as well.

Actually I don't play anything constantly, but when I play I mostly like to play the following types of games:

Real-Time Strategy (example: Warcraft 3, Warhammer 40k Dawn of War, Red Alert 2...)

FPS (example: Doom 3, Half-Life 2, Unreal Tournament...)

FPS or TPS/RPG/Adventure combination (example: Deus Ex, Invisible War, Vampire The Masquerade-Bloodlines)

Third-person/RPG/Adventure combination (example: KoTOR 1, KoTOR 2 TSL)

Adventures (example: Grim Fandango, Monkey Island series...)

Tactical games (example: Commandos, Desperados, Star Trek Away Team...)

I play other genres too, but not as much as these stated above.

I'm a huge Half-Life fan (Half-Life 2: Aftermath on April 24!) so I play a lot of FPS games, like F.E.A.R, HL, and HL2. The RPG's I play are NWN and KotOR, which I've beaten too many times to count, so they're not as big a part of what I play usually. And I haven't played Command & Conquer for at least a year and a half, so it's mostly FPS games for me.

I play RPGs like KotOR and Baldur's Gate and NWN, and mmo's like WoW and Guild Wars, and I also really enjoy adventure games, most notably the Myst series. I also play RTSs from time to time, but will be playing them a lot more often once I get my copy of EaW ;)

From most played to least played:

1- Any kind of RPG: KotOR, Vampire TM - Bloodlines, Neverwinter Nights, Dungeon Siege, Fable, Baldur's Gate

2- RTS: Warcraft, Age of Empire, Dragonshard, Warhammer 40k, Starcraft

3- FPS: Unreal Tournament, Battlefield, Battlefront 1 & 2, Half Life 2

4- Action/adventure: Grand Theft Auto, Max Payne, Prince of Persia

5- Sport sims: NHL 2006, Madden 2006

6- Space sims: Freelancer, TIE-Fighter

7- MMORPG: World of Warcraft (it use to be my #1 but I stopped playing, it just required too much of a big commitment and I just didn't have the time anymore)

I accidently made it a double voting system. I just noticed at the bottom.

It was strategy games before, then FPS on the side. Then i played KOTOR for the first time and realized how fun RPG's were. I'm really excited about Elder Scrolls 4. MMORPG get old eventually, the only reason you play is to get that next level so you can pwn some noobs.

I see you got owned yourself :p

Nah, MMORPG can be about plenty of things. Exploration, leveling up, meeting people, RPing, etc.

recently, i've been doing nothing but playing RTS in my spare time. i'll be the first to admit that its quite out of character for me since i'm always playing an FPS. mostly, its been Rome: Total War and the Barbarian Invasion expasion since mid-November for me.

just this morning, though, i picked up the copy of E@W that i reserved, so i'm sure that it will keep me going for quite some time, although i doubt it will have the staying power of RTW given the limitations to battlefield tactics that RTW has. still, its great to see a good Star Wars RTS for a change.

as for FPS games, i was into Battlefield 2 and FEAR for a while, but as it is with most FPS games, i lost interest. heck, i'll be selling my copies of those games on EBay if anybody is interested... >_>

I'm not a real heavy duty gamer and thus haven't played a whole lot of games. I tend to play one game for a while and then move on to another once I get tired of playing.

RPG (KotOR and TSL) = 90%

FPS (DF2:JK and JKA) = 10%

This is slightly off topic, but the percentages for the poll add up to a lot more than 100%.
Yeah, because voters could select more than one poll option and so the percentages displayed are numbers of voters who voted for that particular option/total number of voters.

In the computer realm, RPG (Kotor style).

Outside the computer realm, we've reached the phase of life where we're playing a lot of board games. We like Life and Mousetrap best.

I haven't been playing many games lately. :( The last one I played was Loom (adventure). Before that I was playing Guild Wars. I play strategy and FPS games on occasion, but not recently... unless you count Descent as an FPS. Hah, groundpounder shooters are for wimps. :D

FPS:

SP recent: Perfect Dark Zero(360) BattlefrontII(PC)

SP slacked off: Halo I+II(X) Half-LifeII(PC) BFII (PC, sp lame but bearable)

MP slacked off (due to not having access:() BFII (PC, RULZ!!!) Counterstrike(PC) HLII Deathmatch (PC)

*I know I have more but my brains stuck *

RPG: (no MP)

Recent: TSL (PC+X) Jade Empire (X) Morrowind (PC) Dungeon Siege (PC)

Old: Kotor (So sue me, I'm busy  )

Strategy: (no MP)

Recent: Mostly just random Demos (E@W not all that great IMO :()

Old: Empire Earth (PC) Various Star Trek Titles (PC)

Sim: (no MP, if you haven't figured it out by now, shooters are the only thing I've ever bothered to play online;))

Recent: Freelancer (PC)

Old: All Descent All De Time (PC) Various Flight sims (PC)

Action:

Recent: Project Breakdown (X) Ninja Gaiden Black (X)

Planned: DOA4 (360)

Sports:

NCAA FOOTBALL series (X) and NBA Street series (X)

Shooters are my fav, but I'm getting more into RPG. I wish they'd just combine the two by cutting the Shooter-short storylines and Wizardy-demonness and just make RPG's with storlines as immersive as rpg and battle as immersive as FPS.

Descent started it all for me... I CAST A SCROLL OF 75% RESURRECTION ON DESCENT4!!!
