Zappa_0 Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Hey guys, just got back from seeing this movie and I must WOAH! That was awesome. Its gonna be another bit hit at the movies. The story is just awesome, and when its over your just gonna be amazed. But I did kinda looked for Neo showing up and Hugo Weaving saying "Mr. Anderson...what are you doing here?" But I love Hugo's voice with V "Oh not tonight". This movie is a must see in my books. So who else seen it tonight?
Alkonium Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Didn't actually see it, but apparently I heard that Natalie Portman decided that she likes the buzzcut she had to get for the film.
IG-64 Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 I'm not sure weither to see this or not, it has very mixed reviews. I just need to know, if you don't care about the political part (whatever that may be), and if you don't care about the lesbian part, what does this movie have going for it?
Darth Andrew Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 I wish to see it, but there's a little thing called parents that could hinder that. Since they are wary of why a movie is rated 'R', what is/are the objectional content in the movie, if any?
Zappa_0 Posted March 18, 2006 Author Posted March 18, 2006 Theres nudity in it, lesbian stuff, plus harsh story lines, also the violence. Its worth seeing, the story is just awesome, plus the action stuff.
TiE23 Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 V is the most bad ass masked-man ever. The end scene was totally awesome. "Why... won't... you... die?!" 10/10 Also, anyone know the song in the credits? The first techno one? That was a good song.
Zappa_0 Posted March 18, 2006 Author Posted March 18, 2006 "My Turn" Yea, parents just dont care anymore thats whats wrong with these kids today. I didnt really see any young kids, maybe some around 15 and up. Soundtrack comes out tuesday and has alot of the music from the movie, plus 3 singing songs. Look it up on Amazon they have 30 sec samples.
Commander Obi-Wan Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Damn it! I wanna see the movie. Stop it!!!!!!!11
Kurgan Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 I haven't seen it, by via the trailers it looks like "1984" meets Phantom of the Opera and the Punisher (heck, John Hurt even played Winston in the '84 version of Nineteen Eighty-Four now he looks like he's playing Big Brother, and this is set in England to top it off!). Plus Nataline Portman looks like G.I. Jane or Ripley from Alien 3, with her shaved head. And before anyone gets mad, I know it's based on a comic (which I've never read), so I'll leave it at that. Just my initial impression. I don't feel motivated to rush out and see V... Think I'll pass on this one unless it happens to show at IMAX nearby, just for the big screen thrill of a popcorn flick.
boinga1 Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 V was good. Also it was probably the strangest movie I've seen in quite a while. I was very disappointed that We never got to see V's face. Of course I know that his face isn't important (however that quote went), but I was let down nonetheless. I laughed like a fool at the start when he was talking with all those "v" words, and when he started conducting the explosives. 9/10, for being confusing and because I'm tired.
TiE23 Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 I was confused somewhat, too. I probably have to watch it 3 more times before I understand everything. Anyone have it where everyone laughed when Evey said, "So, you're insane?" when V finished saying his "V Monolouge"?
DarthAve Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Totally wish I could see it, two reasons I can't 1. I'm under 18 2. My dad is infactuated with seeing She's the Man because he loves Amanda Bynes(creepy)
DarthAve Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 You can be 17 to Rent, buy, or go see R rated movies the theater. 18 is for NC-17. Yeah, but I'm also under 17, maybe I can get my grandma drunk and see it on Friday..... I don't know.
TiE23 Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 I saw it and I'm 15, and I only went with my brother and he bought them through the electronic teller so he didn't have to try and sell me as a 17 yearold.
Det. Bart Lasiter Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 You could also just go into the theatre and sit near the door at the front, in case of 5-0
Mike Windu Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 It's rather idiotic that some theaters don't let 17 year olds in (case in point, mine) especially when the rating states 17... But oh well. I get to see it cause my friend works at a different theater. I'll probably see it this week.
ET Warrior Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Just got back from seeing it, and wow. It was really a great movie, easily the best one that's come out this year (though that isn't saying a whole lot..) The plot is excellent, the acting is top-notch, and the action scenes, while few, were very well done. I loved it. I don't understand all the hub-bub about the lesbians in this movie...it's not like there were any fullon lesbian love scenes, there was one scene with a woman kissing another woman, and they held hands some. Ohs. Noes.
El Sitherino Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 And when it comes to ladies, doing that doesn't make them lesbians, just best friends.
TiE23 Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Who happen to make-out at normal intervals. Fine with me.
Curt-Man Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 I personally thought this movie was so damn awesome I almost peed my pants multiple times. Natalie portman rocked in it, she was so good. Hugo Weaving brought more emotion to a mask than james earl jones did with Darth vader, thats how good this movie was. Fantastic Story, Characters, Action and Pure Awesomeness.
Alkonium Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 I think I read in Maclean's that this film is going to be more controversial than any other film this year, and I must say, controversy is in this year.
Mike Windu Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Who knows... there might be vampire sorority babes... Cool points to whoever gets that reference.
