IG-64
Apparently, this isn't an April Fools joke. AGFRAG made the announcement yesterday, prompting concerns from skeptics of an early April Fool's joke. We contacted AGFRAG directly for clarification. "The press release is not a joke, but the side effect of people thinking it is might help us get noticed," explained Joseph Hatcher, who heads up the company brining Bob Ross to Nintendo's systems. The concept of a painting game on rev intrigues me. And Bob Ross is cool. There's also a cooking game, a trauma center game, and a transformers game planned. Those are interesting as well. Thoughts? Reclaimer
Interesting, basicly Microsoft Paint for Revolution most likely (not confirming) but it sounds cool if you can share them like on the 360...

It'd probably be more advanced than that. In the nature of Bob Ross, and the rev controller, it'd take into account the kind of stroke you do physically with the brush, and the amount of paint on the brush, ect. There's a lot of emphasis on those kind of things in painting.

Lynk Former
There's also a cooking game, a trauma center game, and a transformers game planned. Those are interesting as well. Thoughts? Not only that but there are quite a few indie developers on board the Revolution bandwagon. And some of the games I've been hearing about are definately gonna make people think twice before they call Nintendo kiddie ever again.

MrWally
Oh, I remember Bob Ross, my mom loved his paintings and it was one of the few television shows she actually enjoyed. When we think about videogames, the name Bob Ross does not spring to mind.[/Quote] haha, agreed
TiE23
It's a joke. Anyone could do that in Photoshop in 10 minutes.
MrWally
While the picture does look like it could have been faked, I don't think it was, TiE. Check out the official Bob Ross site Here

edlib
Well, the picture is obviously faked, (it kinda has to be... didn't he die in '95? Unless they keep him around for photo ops like this...) but the news might not be... Happy little trees all around...
Lynk Former
Well it certainly goes along with Nintendo's tactic of encouraging the making playable software, not just straight up videogames.

Acrylic
Wow, this is a sweet idea of a "game". I hope this isn't an April Fools joke, because this sounds sweet.

There's also a cooking game, a trauma center game, and a transformers game planned. Those are interesting as well. Thoughts? A Trauma Center game for Revolution? They already made one for DS, and it almost made me wish I had a DS. If I had a DS, that would be a game I would crave.
Lynk Former
The NRV version of Trauma Center will be a lot more detailed than the DS version. For instance the DS version couldn't simulate pressure, the Revmote can.

toms
Paint game = cool idea - hopefully it will work out something like Painter with a pressure sensitive Wacom tablet. Though not as acurate. Bob Ross = Who? Despite the IGN article claiming he is "known worldwide" I'd suspect that very few people outside the US have the fainted idea who he is. Me included. Now if it was a Rolph Harris painting game....
Commander Obi-Wan
. Now if it was a Rolph Harris painting game.... Rolph Harris = Who? Obviously, he's a painter. But, maybe us outside of the U.K might not know.

Katarn07
This calls for a happy little tree. Afterall, it's our world. We can put that anywhere we want. Yeah, the Family Guy bit was great. Despite the IGN article claiming he is "known worldwide" I'd suspect that very few people outside the US have the fainted idea who he is. Me included. You fail. Wikipedia, a not exactly US-centric site has this on Bob Ross and his show: The series was taped for eleven years, until 1993, and is broadcasted in many countries worldwide. As of 2005, The Joy of Painting was being shown on Turkish state broadcaster TRT (with the title Resim Sevinci), German television (BR-Alpha), Discovery Real Time (Sky Digital channel 250) in the UK, and AT5 in Amsterdam, among several other public stations across The Netherlands. The show also runs in syndication on American public television stations and on CREATE, a digital public broadcasting network. Quite a list for something that's twelve years old. Oh, and Rolph Harris doesn't even have an article. Or an official website. ROLF Harris on the other hand... Don't make an assumption on someone's notoriety in ignorance just because you haven't heard of him next time. The world does not revolve around your opinion (thank the lord). The world does not revolve around your opinion (thank the lord). Right that was abit harsh. I agree with toms here on the UK point, I have no idea who bob ross is. He was genrelzing. Bob Ross may be well known in the USA and every other country in the world, doesnt stop someone havening an opinion having. Every country has TV figures that someone wont reconize, for example (of the top of my head here so not a great example) Neil Buchanan, ever heard of him. He's a Uk TV artist (of course if you live in the UK, this may be a bit pointless) and im sure just about no one in the Us knows him. Just because something is on Wiki does not change the fact you have no idea what something is. Just because something is on a wiki does not mean i will automaticaly be able to accsess, sort and deliver infomation. I relelize here im rambling in a post with with many 'speeling' mistakes, so i go back to my point of that was a bit harsh. OT: A painting program for the Rev? will either be very good, or very bad. But still inovtive with the new controler
Lathain Valtiel
I have no problem with someone not knowing someone. I have a problem with basically unsubstantiated generalizations based on absolutely nothing but your own biases.
IG-64
I can see where you're coming from Lathain, but I also think you need to cool it. Go paint a happy tree or something. These forums are for casual talking, not cutthroat debates. Besides, arguing about Bob Ross is just silly.
