Jae Onasi Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 During the Easter season, those wonderful, sticky, sugary treats known as Peeps appear on stores shelves, just begging us to eat them (usually head first). If they're purple, you can even claim to be a Purple Peep Eater! However, some brilliant folks over at Peep Research decided to conduct experiments to "try to discover just a little bit more about the world around us through the miracles of science, technology, and preservatives." They have conducted experiments so we can learn about our sucrose brothers and sisters. The researchers assure us that "Before any testing begins, all peep subjects are thoroughly examined and sign a disclosure form explaining the potential risks of their volunteer service." Warning: Put that drink down if you're sipping anything remotely close to your computer keyboard. On the 0-5 Spew Scale, I thought it was a 6. Peep Research Site And especially for those of you in the medical field (or not--it's still funny), do check out the Peep Surgery section. The Code Purple is, well, I can't explain it. You have to see it for yourself. Peep Surgery Enjoy and Happy Easter!
Snafu7 Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Yeah, definately weird, but I can't say I expected it to be normal, don't think I've seen alot of normal stuff in Ahto in a while...or ever.
Hallucination Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Well, this is really wierd. WTF of the week wierd. *goes back to eating chocolate*
Jae Onasi Posted April 16, 2006 Author Posted April 16, 2006 Yeah, that's what I get for being not only geeky, but in the medical field to top it off. They obviously had _way_ too much time on their hands over at that hospital.
PazaakPrincess Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Could someone send me some peeps? they don't have them in England
HerbieZ Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Could someone send me some peeps? they don't have them in England Aye, and they look curiously delicious. Until i saw this, in which the last pictures are horrific.
Hallucination Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Could someone send me some peeps? they don't have them in England They're just shaped and coloured marshmallows I think, nothing too special.
The Doctor Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 They have a special candy coating, which makes them kinda crunchy. At least, in my experience. I could just be getting stale ones. They're very sweet, too - you can practically feel the enamil melting off of your teeth
Hallucination Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Really? I love feeing my enamil! I've never had these, it was just what I assumed after having seen some cheap knock-off brands.
Hallucination Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 ^Do you want me to say something about that?
Det. Bart Lasiter Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Could someone send me some peeps? they don't have them in England The suck ass compared to Cadbury Flakes (the chocolate stick things), which are available in England but hard to get here
Samnmax221 Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Could someone send me some peeps? they don't have them in England My advice, forget you ever heard of them, they taste horrible, not to mention I saw a classmate throw up an entire stomach full many years back, sixth grade I think.
milo Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I agree with Samnmax, peeps taste awful. Don't try them, they suck. I thought the peep taking a drag was pretty funny though.
Jae Onasi Posted April 17, 2006 Author Posted April 17, 2006 Peeps are great, especially if you want to experience a sugar coma for about a week. Unless you're a little kid, in which case you just bounce off walls for about a week from the sugar high.
RedHawke Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 For people to do all of that to some marshmellow confections I have to say that someone has waaaay too much time on their hands!
†Saint_Killa† Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Never liked marshmallows, never eat marshmallows.
stingerhs Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 now that was classic. sorry, but for those of us that have read scientific papers and enjoy Peeps, this was just the laughs i was looking for this morning.
tk102 Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Reminds me of the ancient Twinkies Project website.
RaV™ Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Peeps are very nasty, but I found the site very amusing.
