Astrotoy7
Im curious to see what outrageous case mods people have seen or made themselves. The amount of work that some people put into these things begs the question ? do they have a gf/wife/dog/cat to care for ??? I respect the talent some modders have but it seems a extravagant way to waste time and money This is the most bizaare one Ive seen...built for flight sims... Here's another one, with much detail, with a Doom3 theme... Linky or more details/pics * * * Im sure there are plenty of SW ones out there..though I havent seen one as elaborate as the one above... EDIT: Restless googling has bought me across this... a desk and case all in one !! Too bad it doesnt have shield generators If there was one I could have...I would pick THIS ! mtfbwya
Jeff
Wow, that R2 one is awesome ! I haven't really seen a lot of case mods but those two are pretty cool I'd definitely take the R2 case over my old junker of a case.

Jae Onasi
Geez, that guy could just about have bought a _real_ plane with the money he spent on that case.

Samnmax221
Here's a worklog I followed for over a year, this has to be the most intricate mod I'v ever seen http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=
Sabretooth
Heh, I'll never forget the classic "Millenium Falcon" case that I think IG-64 or TiE had posted. It was awesome. But out of the above, I like the Tie Fighter case the best, it's uber convenient.

Char Ell
I must have missed something. Which one is the tie fighter case? I wish I had case design and build skills like some of these guys. I've got some things I want to do with my plain Jane case but no ability to bring those ideas to fruition.

stingerhs
quick question: there wouldn't be any harm done if i would, let's say take off the plastic panels to an old case of mine and replace them with wood, is there?? i would definately take the precautions of fireproofing the insides, but is that even necessary?? If you really want to replace the plastic panels with wood though then I'm thinking it shouldn't be a problem on the access side but may cause problems on the mainboard side. I'm thinking you've got to ensure that the wood doesn't interfere with the mounting of the mainboard.

Samnmax221
Ammo Case mod: Is that an oscillascope in there?
stingerhs
sweet. i was just curious if there might be some sort of off the wall fire hazard. and i asked because i'm quite good at working with wood. i've been thinking about doing a serious case mod with an old Gateway server case for quite some time. hehe, that case was so old that the mobo it came with was still using 50MHz Pentium and an integrated ATI Rage video chip. fortunately, its still ATX compatible. Boba Rhett
Real wooden transistors? Like the Amish use? I like this Half Life 2 Case I'd really like to find an interesting case to make as I have access to several milling machines and could really churn out some cool stuff.
