BongoBob
Well I've gotten into more classic rock lately, and purchased GNR - Appetite For Destruction and AC/DC - Highway to hell. I already have Ozzy Ozbourne - Blizzard Of Ozz and David Bowie - The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust on my list of albums to acquire, and I was hoping that the classic rock lovers here could give me some more suggestions to add to the list. I know Z already told me to get Queen - A Night At The Opera and Aerosmith - Rocks. So please help me out my fellow swampies. *goes off huming Paradise City*

And Rhett there's an extra 'e' in Creedence Clearwater Revival. Another good CCR song is Fortunate Son.

TiE23
I've been listening to the Guitar Hero 2 sound track a hell-uv-a-lot lately. My favorite songs: "Hangar 18" - Megadeth (Song turns awesome at 2:50) "Institutionalized" - Suicidal Tendencies (Just like it...) "Misirlou" - Dick Dale (Fast....) "Beast and the Harlot" - Avenged Sevenfold (Most pure rock song I've heard) "Jessica" - The Allman Brothers Band (Not heavy at all, fun) "Madhouse" - Anthrax (Starting is funny) "Who Was in My Room Last Night?" - Butthole Surfers (Very catchy) "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" - The Rolling Stones (Addictive song) "Woman" - Wolfmother (Catchy stuff) "Psychobilly Freakout" - The Reverend Horton Heat (Crazy) "Elephant Bones" - That Handsome Devil (Funny lyrics) "Gemini" - Brian Kahanek "Jordan" - Buckethead "Stop!" - Jane's Addiction "Less Talk More Rokk" - Freezepop (Starts out good, gets kinda annoying later though) And this... "Yes We Can" - Made in Mexico I actually never listened to it before on my Zen but when I fell asleep with the thing on I woke-up during this song. I thought I was getting attacked by ghosts or something.

Led Zeppelin - Achilles Last Stand, Stairway to Heaven, Nobody's Fault but Mine, No Quarter, The Song Remains the Same, The Immigrant Song, and Black Dog. The Who - Baba O'Riley, I Can See for Miles, Happy Jack, and Pinball Wizard. ACDC - Back in Black, You Shook Me All Night Long GNR - Sweet Child o' Mine Jimi Hendrix - Little Wing, Castles Made of Sand, Purple Haze, Voodoo Child, Machine Gun, All Along the Watchtower, and Bold as Love. Van Halen - Panama, Jump, You Really Got Me, and Ain't Talkin' Bout Love. Rush - Tom Sawyer, Subdivisions. Pixies - Where is my Mind?, Debaser, Monkey Gone to Heaven. Pink Floyd - Time, Comfortably Numb, Interstellar Overdrive, Wish You Were Here, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, and Dogs. Jethro Tull - Aqualung Metallica - Pretty much all of the Master of Puppets album, One, Enter Sandman. Megadeth - Pretty much all of Rust in Peace, in particular Hangar 18 and The Punishment Due. Cream - Tales of Brave Ulysses, Sunshine of your Love. Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young - Suite: Judy Blue Eyes, Wooden Ships, Shadow Captain, and Daylight Again. Possibly Woodstock, but I'd much rather recommend the Joni Mitchell original version. Bruce Springsteen - The River, Born to Run, Born in the USA. Prince - Purple Rain Funkadelic/Parliament - Maggot Brain(YESYESYESYESYESYES! If you love sweet awesome epic [insert adjectives of praise ad infinitum] guitar work, listen to the song.) Mike Windu
Sweet Child o Mine is my favorite song, ever. Guitar Hero songs not withstanding... Billy Joel - Piano Man Billy Joel - We Didn't Start the Fire The Hollies - Long Cool Woman Norman Greenbaum - Spirit in the Sky Any Pink Floyd/Led Zeppelin/Queen Jimi Hendrix - Red House Steve Miller Band - Fly Like an Eagle (Seal's cover of the same song on the Space Jam soundtrack is nice. I might get more stuff later. My tastes are kinda varied in terms of classic rock though.
Hermie
I agree with Zed (<3), what should be named are albums, not specific songs. Not only are most albums a single experience, with a certain feel or mood to each and every one, one might also discover new favourite songs that never were played on the radio. As far as AC/DC goes, Highway to Hell and Back in Black are definetly the very peak of their albums so far. Also worth a check-out are the live albums If You Want Blood (You've Got It) and AC/DC LIVE. Deep Purple are also really worth checking out, especially their Mk II line-up albums, like Machine Head and In Rock. They have what I think is the perfect blend between driving rythms, a hard-hitting yet melodic dynamic between guitar and organ, and solid, high-pitched screamed vocals with just witty enough lyrics. Led Zeppelin cannot go unmentioned, and although a lot of people say IV is the best album, I find I prefer II, because of the harder edge it has. The Rolling Stones are also givens, I can sit and listen to Beggar's Banquet and Exile on Main Street over and over, and never cease to be amazed by the energy the band produces in their music. Far too few people are aware of The Doors. They play psychedelic blues rock that grips you by the heart, and just wont let go. If you can, check out their selftitled album. That's it for now, do tell if you want more, or more indepth about a band... <.<
swphreak
Iron Man! I'm not a diehard classic rock listener, but I do listen to it when it's on the radio. This station is pretty decent, you can listen over the net (their morning show is awesome). I've also been listening to some ACDC, Def Leppard, Scorpians, Boston, ZZ Top, and whatever is playing on that station.
Fish.Stapler
Definitely look into Rush. There's a lot of good stuff there. It's so good I don't even know where to start reccommending stuff, their popular songs and lesser-known songs are equally good, but it's definitely not often radio-worthy (satellite radio ftw) and can be a major acquired taste. Natural Science, Tom Sawyer, Earthshine, The Spirit of Radio, 2112, Something for Nothing...you've got me started and I won't shut up now . Look into IV and II by Led Zeppelin, and basically everything the other people have said. It's all good.
MrWally
Queen. Just listen to them. Platinum Collection is great but I'd definitely suggest "A Night at the Opera" with "The Prophet's Song" being their best song Also: Emerson, Lake, and Palmer (more prog rock I guess, but still great) Electric Light Orchestra Styx Pink Floyd Led Zeppelin Jethro Tull THE BEATLES I'll think of more after I go though my music library
BongoBob
TBH, I was hoping for more Album Suggestions than Specific songs. Thanks everyone for all the advice though. My next purchases are going to be Blizzard Of Ozz and The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust, then hopefully Led Zeppelin II or IV.
FiEND_138
Far too few people are aware of The Doors. They play psychedelic blues rock that grips you by the heart, and just wont let go. If you can, check out their selftitled album. Or maybe have a listen to Morrison Hotel or the L.A. Woman album if your looking for some pure good old fashioned rock n' roll. Suicidal Tendencies - Prime Cuts (Just to cover the basic ST stuff.) Carnivore - Retaliation - (If your into Type O Negative & want to hear them before they took the heavier vampire influenced feel) Iron Maiden - Killers & Number of the Beast Misfits - Static Age & Earth A.D.
