The Doctor Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Now, don't get me wrong: I already knew that Pepsi was a disgusting, thieving corporation that has never had an idea that they didn't simply steal from Coca Cola. But I saw a commercial today that brings them to all new levels of low - a commercial that introduced their new advertising logo. If you don't see it right away, as I did, flip it upside down. If you still don't see it, here's what it reminds you of: Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) I realise the logos were never all that different to begin with, but I'm convinced that Pepsi is merely playing on the recent drama in Washington to boost sales by tying their product subconsciously to one of the most popular Presidents of the modern age. Despicable.
Lynk Former Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 You get your panties in a twist over the strangest things...
Boba Rhett Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I noticed that but what really got me is how much they're spending on updating the logo worldwide. Something like 300 million. I think it's a pretty bland logo, myself. It looks a bit like a multicolored "lolling" Pacman.
The Doctor Posted January 20, 2009 Author Posted January 20, 2009 You get your panties in a twist over the strangest things... My panties are always in a twist. It's merely a matter of how twisted they can get.
Pho3nix Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I was happy with their old logo, dunno what was wrong with it. I usually like it when companies "freshen up" with new logos and such, but the new one seems kinda off.
Jeff Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 The thing with this is that they probably paid someone a boatload of cash to come up with that logo.
Det. Bart Lasiter Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 are you saying corporations and ad executives are greedy ****s who would rape a baby for a quarter and wouldnt bat an eyelash about stealing someone else's intellectual property? because i have a hard time believing that sir.
jawathehutt Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I just dont like pepsi because its tastes bad Even in spezi it tastes bad, its absurd. And poweraid is better than gatoraid
Adavardes Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Pepsi = useless doppleganger corporation to Coca-cola. Thusly, nearly everything they do is a ripoff of another company. They're like every other corporation: a leech of human life. They know no shame.
Miltiades Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 It looks a bit like a multicolored "lolling" Pacman. I thought the exact same thing. I don't really care about logo's. Let them copy. As long as the product fails to deliver, it won't help much.
Mav Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 The thing with this is that they probably paid someone a boatload of cash to come up with that logo.Sorry but according to the contract I signed I'm not allowed to release information on how much I got paid.
Arátoeldar Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 are you saying corporations and ad executives are greedy ****s who would rape a baby for a quarter and wouldnt bat an eyelash about stealing someone else's intellectual property? because i have a hard time believing that sir. Ok Woodrow Wilson or should I call you FDR?
Det. Bart Lasiter Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 woah careful i might take offense at being compared to the man who dragged the u.s. out of the depression
Darth333 Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Sorry but according to the contract I signed I'm not allowed to release information on how much I got paid. No problem...having drafted the contract, I know it anyway Seriously now, I've seen much worse...
LordOfTheFish Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 If they change it again in a few months, I'm convinced. And poweraid is better than gatoraid You , sir, FAIL!
Darth Avlectus Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 I just dont like pepsi because its tastes bad Even in spezi it tastes bad, its absurd. And poweraid is better than gatoraid Damn straight! Competition keeps products good, it's time gatorade had to work a little harder. I'd like to see more products. Pepsi is lackluster.
jawathehutt Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 If they change it again in a few months, I'm convinced. You , sir, FAIL! Both taste almost the exact same, yet poweraid is almost always on sale for half the price of gatoraid and even when not on sale its still a lot cheaper. And poweraid doesn't make up crazy things like rain or the gatoraid that had to flavors then charge an extra dollar so you can buy watered down sports drinks or have poorly mixed gatoraid flavors. The only reason I drink gatoraid during the fall is because I work at an ironman aid station in the middle of nowhere that none of the officials ever go to and when the do they don't ever notice that a few crates of gatoraid disappeared with all of the workers.
GeneralPloKoon Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 The only good that came out of Pepsi was Dr. Pepper. I despise all other Pepsi products!
TKA-001 Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 I've never drank both at the same time, so I've never noticed (nor cared about) any differences.
Prime Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 The thing with this is that they probably paid someone a boatload of cash to come up with that logo.Glad someone is making money in this economy...
Arátoeldar Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 woah careful i might take offense at being compared to the man who dragged the u.s. out of the depression I suggest you crack a good U.S. history book. FDR and his policies were what extended the depression. Which is why the depression of the late 1920's to early 1930's is known only in the U.S. as the "Great" Depression. It took WWII to actually life the U.S. out of its' depression.
Aash Li Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 The Doctors spoiler didnt work for me... >.> Nothing to show/hide.
