Jeff Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Anyone likes this cover art? I think it absolutely sucks. And the original ME art was awesome so that is too bad. The 2 people in the back look ok but Sheperd just looks ridiculous and overall it sucks.
DarthParametric Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 According to a thread about the cover art on the official forums, the Krogan is Grunt, one of the new ME2 party members. The human female is Miranda, another new party member.

Ctrl Alt Del Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 ^ I suppose the no babies rule is still in place on the Normandy. Jeff said: Anyone likes this cover art? I think it absolutely sucks. The original art was ok, though a little too much starwarsy... This one looks a bit more original, methinks.

Char Ell Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 I have to say I wasn't overly impressed with the ME2 box art. It's not bad per se, it just doesn't really grab me like the box art on the original ME did. I also saw that an ME2 bonus item will be included in the Collector's Edition of Dragon Age: Origins. I'm guessing that offering a bonus for an upcoming game in another game is a first for BioWare. http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=75494

Char Ell Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I agree that the ME2 bonus item in DA:O's Collectors Edition is due to EA's influence but is this marketing ploy inherently eeee-vil?
DarthParametric Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Not for those that plan to buy both perhaps, but there is ill-will from those not planning on getting DA that feel they are missing out. It's the same sort of thing as the various pre-order bonuses you see for games these days. I'm not a fan of the strategy personally.
cire992 Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 ^ Agreed. The pre-order bonuses are fair enough, but offering a free demo or something with a different game that you weren't planning on buying sort of defeats its purpose. Almost as if the company was trying to reward those who were buying both games than sell their game their demonstrating. ... Unless, of course, it isn't a demo.
cire992 Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Haven't been following the news the last few days, new screens are out. And a trailer for a new squad member Thane looks pretty amazing, Grunt looks like a psychotic version of Wrex with cooler armor. Throw in some ME1 characters, a brand new Normandy (look closely at the new screens), that babe from the cover art and a Rocket Launcher, add a pinch of salt and stir well and I think we'll have a game.
Astor Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 The screens and the video were good, but Grunt sounds too much like Wrex. Also, I don't like the idea that you have to buy an entirely different game to get special items for ME2.

Miltiades Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 A new trailer, this one introducing Subject Zero, a female party member. I thought Grunt was bad, but this is really awful. In my opinion, they really hit bottom with this one.
igyman Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 I just loooove what she's done with her hair.
Rake Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 All of these videos are starting to scare me a bit, they all give off a sense of linearity; something I hoped would die with the first game. Go to point A, B, C, recruit character A, B, C with generic "I want you on my kickass squad," line; and proceed to final mission. Most of the videos seem to suggest that is the path the game is going to follow; hoping I'm proven wrong.
DarthParametric Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Hawt. Ah EA. I can just see Riccitiello in there giving them a Lucas-esque "faster, more intense".
igyman Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Hey, as long as they include the "hook up with two girls" option from Jade Empire, they can do whatever they want with the rest of it. Seriously now, the first game was great so there's really no good reason to I'm still kind of hoping they won't F-up the sequel.
jrrtoken Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Look's like a character that belongs in Fallout, but has been mysteriously transported to outer space. Either way, I suppose I'm not the only one that finds her to be an hilariously ridiculous character...
Astor Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Quote And some are because f*** you. Charming woman. She's certainly different. They're obviously trying to create a darker tone with ME2, but that just looked comical. Interesting, but comical.
Jeff Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 I thought the same thing as the rest of you watching that video, that character is ridiculous. "Here is Sub Zero! Now, Plain Zero!"
