Wrestlemania 25

Recommended Posts

I don't watch it much anymore, but I still like hearing the results!

Matches I would watch this year are Ric Flair v Jericho and Undertaker v Michaels. Of course, the two legends MUST win! I don't pay much attention to the titles - only when Triple H, 'Taker, Michaels or Flair are champions do I care...

It all went downhill after Kane took that mask off.. :p

Wow, that's exactly when I quit too!

I didn't mind that so much as the whole Kane-Lita angle...that was just unbearably soapy.

It was great from Hulkamania through to McMahon-Austin, began to drop off a little after that, then re-invigorated a bit during the short-lived 'Invasion' angle, then got even better when Flair returned, and has been collapsing ever since with a few notable angles being exceptions - like JBL/Undertaker, D-X coming back, Flair...

I watched when I was in the Sixth Grade. Can't remember what exactly happened when I started, but the Kurt Angle Goes Bald act came in a few weeks, and I went all the way through the Gurrero's "Lie, Cheat, Steal" thing, Benoit's return, John Cena's first appearance and so on until a little after Kane took off his mask. I got bored with it, really.

Oh my god no. Not here, not on this forum, please, just NO.

I'd prefer to keep censorship out of the United States. Something called the second amendment. (sic)

OMG CENSORSHIP!!!!!111!!!!oneoneone!!11!!eleventy-one!!11!!

@thread--Wrestling looks like it's just about entertainment rather than 'real wresting' like what you see in college, but people like it, so there you are. I prefer to watch taekwondo if I'm going to watch any kind of fighting.

I used to be into it as a kid. Not really so much anymore. It's pseudo violence, and stuntwork...frankly it has run out of ideas and, well...yeah...

Though I will say that Wrestle Mania is the sort of 'Super Bowl of pro wrestling' IMO.

Who says it's just for rednecks? Mexicans love it, japanese love it (both DO it)...hell, I've even heard in europe they have their variations.

However my tastes went more towards ECW in its days of too violent for TV run...Like Living Dangerously pay per view in 2000 where nu-jack jumped 20 ft out of a balcony through a table. Thumb tacks, road signs. Cussing. It was actually a bit more brutal.

I figure if you're gonna do it, go all out. Or go home. OR just watch hockey or rugby with old school rules...or USA style football without armor and padding.

Also if you are into that, Back Yard Wrestling, Japanese Wrestling, etc.

...In a way UFC, because even it has toned down from previous years. Which is where Ken Shamrock came from.

Frankly I like the SMACKDOWN! series of games for how utterly customizable your home made characters can be. THAT is a standard other fighting games still have yet to match. OR RPGs for that matter (AHEM lucasarts?) Custom looks, custom abilities, and custom movesets (even though it is just wrestling).

I watched old school when it used to be called WWF. I stopped paying attention entirely when WWE merged with the other wrestling companies. Have not watched a full episode since.

It is a glorified soap opera, but I always thought it was a great form of comedy. That, and after reading Mick Foley's books and meeting him in person I gained a greater respect for the entertainment enough to call it a semi-sport.

Have not watched in maybe... I dunno, 8 or so years. I don't like the new names they have. I miss Stone Cold, Rock, Mick Foley, and old Kane/Undertaker, Hardy Boys, etc. Least they made the fake drama entertaining.

Used to love it, but now I take it seriously and its lost the hilarious magic it used to have :p

QFT.

Most of the acting when they have 'arguements' backstage is absolutely abysmal...

Seriously, WWE has had a good run, but I can't help but feel it'll die sooner, rather than later.
