BREAKING NEWS!!!

It has just been revealed that director Gore Verbinski has decided not to do the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie but instead, make a BIOSHOCK MOVIE.

Let us ponder this news for a moment. We shall soon be seeing a heavily funded and well produced movie with these guys in it.

Proceed to soil your pants and discuss.

I'm not sure what to think about a Bioshock movie, because the track record of movies based on video games is not that great.

I am happy with the decision to not produce another PotC movie, however. Three was more than enough.

I think if they produced a movie based on the idea, the creation and the demise of Rapture, then it could be a very interesting movie. However, if the movie is just going to be a recreation of the story of Jack then I'm not overly interested in it unless Jack is changed to Jackie and Keira Knightley plays the role.

I have still not beaten BioShock, can't get the damn thing to run on my laptop but from what I have seen it looks like it'd make for a great movie, and it's good to see a proven director take on the project.

I wouldn't mind that. :D

No arguments here.

The first PotC was tolerable, if barely, because it was more funny than stupid. In the second and third films the stupidity eclipsed the humor to such a degree that I couldn't sit through them.

The originals always seem to be the best

I'll believe it and be excited when I see it. Until then, it's another video game movie. Which automatically puts it in the negative.

She's too old now, maybe a few years ago.

Hopefully little sisters are little sisters, and the film makers don't pussy out and use older people.

Call me an old man, but I remember way back when games used to be based on movies.

 I agree with the general consensus of the time that that particular game was bad.

BTW, Bioshock's like $20.00 now. Since I now have access to a computer that can play it, is it worth it?

Terminator 2?

Rocky IV?

Lord of the Rings: The Two towers?

Star Wars Ep 5?

The originals aren't always the best

Depends on the genre and who made them. ;) But yes, not all originals are the best.

Hard to explain but it falls into its own category....
