Joetheeskimo Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 I'll understand if this post is considered spam and closed, but: I haven't posted for at least a month, and when I finally come back, I see several "I'm leaving" or "good-bye" threads, and it tears me up to see people leave. We've all been posting here so much, it's like we're all best friends and we look out for eachother, and then someone leaves and tears the connection apart. I'm afraid one day my friends will leave, and then what? What do you guys think?

Thats like quiting school because there are no friends in your class. I think you should hang around for like a month or two more. And try to interact more. SInce you are gone so long, the people lose intrest in you. They think you are ignoring them. So try and get more involved if you can. I remember i always made threads like this saying that i wanted to leave. I always found myself re-thinking my actions, and staying for a while longer. And it helped alot. Hope you stay.

I know a lot of people will hate to hear me say that but hey its fun you get to see what people are like and if there is nothing you really want to say its the best thing. Personally I think goodbye post are silly but others wont think so. But I think Agen, Torque and Eggplant summed it up. If you cant find more friends in the swamp then go else where as well. I mean look in the other forums as well because there is a lot of great people out there with great ideas and thoughts that only usually visit certain parts of LF. Mind you watch yourself in the Senate things get a little crazy there sometimes, its why I stopped posting there. But yeah There is lots ofgreat people still on LF. ***Wow this must be my first post here in like 3 months maybe I should post a little more...nah!***

Hes the only guy i know here besides a select few who havent posted 1 reply in atleast a year. Pretty amazing feat. Glad your staying joe.

Some of you talk about htese "great friends" you have here yet some of you have only been here for a few months. Don't worry about people leaving, it happens at every board you go to. What you need to think about is the people you haven't even meet yet. Wait till you have been here for 5 years. I have a ton of friends here that I have seen get married, have kids, graduate from school, go off into the armed forces. Land the big job. I myself have had 2 kids since I have joined. I have also seen some very dear friends leave. More then I would like to count. But such is life and I will always remember the time tha twe did have together and the threads we started and the all night posts that went on and on. And if they should ever come back it will be as if they had never left. People leave, that's a fact, but try to focus on the people you have yet to get to know. You might be suprised at how you and someone else have an even greater bond then some one you already know.

I don't mind the occasional, "Hey guys, I'll be gone for several months", or "Loosing my Internet, so goodbye", or even "Getting married", you know, things like that. That stuff is fine. This is what I HATE! I'm leaving because: 1. LF sucks 2. You guys are all a bunch of nOOb lamerz 3. The mods are nazis. 4. My thread got closed 5. This is boring. 6. All of the above. The real irony is that more then half of these cases all wind up back posting here the following week.
