kipperthefrog Posted May 15, 2004 Posted May 15, 2004 What would happen if gas went up to 8 - 10 bucks a gallon?

--ZeeMan-- Posted May 15, 2004 Posted May 15, 2004 lol....yeaaaaah...ET down in the springs it's like 1.85
MuRaSaMuNe Posted May 15, 2004 Posted May 15, 2004 1.90????? HOLY CRAP!!!!!! That's in American currency as well? My god.... Im in Southern Ontario in Canada.... I thought mine was high lol, wow. It's normally ~0.70 but wayyyyy back when i remember going to a gas station with ~0.60 in Hamilton Ont.
TiE23 Posted May 15, 2004 Posted May 15, 2004 I live right next to a Gas Startion (With store=candy and sodas=yummy), regular unleaded is over $2.50 some days. Yah, ditto what Baw Bag said. I read in a news paper its over $5 in England per gallon (Don't bitch about the pounds vs dollars and liters vs gallons! they were converted) and under $0.14 in Venuzela (No typo here folks!) We're screwed. TiE

MuRaSaMuNe Posted May 15, 2004 Posted May 15, 2004 *smacks forehead* Got my gallons and litres mixed up. Yeah, ours is about $2/gallon as well its .90/litre and in Canadian currency Im too lazy to convert so I'll just assume .
MaulerZ Posted May 15, 2004 Posted May 15, 2004 Its a buck 1.99 here.....I'm not really all that worried about gas prices...when I need gas I buy it doesn't matter
BongoBob Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 Waffeling at around 2.50 here in Vegas, and estimates state that gas will be 3.00 by mid summer, and 3.50 by the summer peak. And I thought this war would LOWER gas prices
teknoranger Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 I would ride my bicycle more plus I need to get into shape...
Astrotoy7 Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 gallons, pfft, get with the metric system ! anyways, here in Ozstralia, a LITRE of unleaded is floating around the dollar mark...which isnt that good...but manageable all things considered... I am lucky and work relatively close to home mtfbwya
GonkH8er Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 As a fellow australian, i can back up this statement it is floating round $1/L some days itll be 82c/L the next itll be 97c/L its crazy!! but.... I think everyone should take the time to read this, if they havent already. http://www.lifeaftertheoilcrash.net/PageOne.html go through the different parts, and any other sections of the site that take your fancy

Neverhoodian Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 Originally posted by GonkH8er No war will make up for the fact that we're fast running out of oil.... Nope. In fact it'll only accelerate the fuel consumption. Strike aircraft, tanks and aircraft carriers guzzle gas like nobody's business. I don't think you'll get much sympathy from our European members...they've had to put up with obcene gas prices for years.
BongoBob Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 yes, but they've had to deal with prices like that for a LOOOONG time. Here, the price has gone like this... | / / / | | | ___ | \ | \ | \ | \/\ | \| The Rate of Increase is astronomical.
wassup Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 I'm in San Diego, and the average price is around $2.30. I've seen many places around here with $2.50+ for regular. It is getting absurd, but good thing I have a pretty fuel efficient car.

The only way to solve this is make ever car on earth a Hybrid car, I bet in a couple of years, gas cars will be come illegal to make and people will be taxed for driving gas cars. AHHH!!!! TiE
