Jae Onasi
@ shinyjedi--I never advocate the use of martial arts so that someone can turn into evil incarnate and go beat the snot out of everyone. That's not the point of martial arts (and if it is at a particular school, people need to avoid that one like the plague). What it will do is a. help the kid get in shape b. build confidence c. develop flexibility d. develop self-defense skills. Note that this is self-defense, not offense. e. learn how to react in a difficult situation. When I had a guy about to beat up his girlfriend in the office I worked at, I didn't use martial arts on him, I called the cops. But what it did do was allow me to react a little faster--the rest of the staff was frozen in fear. Fortunately, the cops got there before he could do anything more nasty than scream at all of us. @Jae - you liked rocks more than boys ?? The boys at your high school must have been pretty ordinary !! They were nice guys, but the right one hadn't come along yet.
GrayJedi
Seems people sue each other for anything and everything these days. How the hell do you put a monetary value on "emotional damages". Moral of the Story: Go to Law School! This is headline news in Canada! Kids can be so cruel sometimes.
Cygnus Q'ol
Hey, if a lady can sue McDonald's for serving her hot coffee, then what the heck...
GrayJedi
LOL! I remember that case. I remember reading somewhere that the McDonalds lady or maybe someone else tried the same thing on Wendy's and failed! This time it was with a baked potato! †Saint_Killa†
Better asked those guys who caught the video and spread it. I can get good advice on pranking people. ALL HAIL THE SWK PRANKSTERS!!!!!
narfblat
The funny thing about the McDonalds coffee lady is that part of the story gets left out. She sued because the bottom out the cup fell out and she got burned, not because the coffee was too hot. As for the swk, he was made famous by it. He appeared on talk shows. People on the internet took a collection to buy him an ipod. There was a petition to have him cameo in Episode III. It seems that he was only depressed by it when it was financially beneficial to be deprssed. He should have had someone write his autobiography for him (yes, that is exactlly what I meant to say), slap his name on it, and make some legit money off of it instead of suing. HerbieZ
It annoys me the way people change. No doubt some fat lawyer has approached the kid and the both get money out of this. It's sick i think and it is abuse of the system. They say though that you can only tell who a person is by the amount of people they will tread over for fame and fortune. The latter in this case. Reclaimer
I think it's kind of ironic that he's getting a lot of money when he's the one who made a fool of himself his friends just helped spread the word Exactly. This pretty much sums it up.
RaV™
Has anyone ever played Tony Hawk Underground 2? On the Boston level you can crash through some window and you'll find a kid doing the same exact thing as the kid in the video, it even has some SW style of music! The think is, if the kid finds out, how is he going to sue a frekin' video game company? All charges should be dropped, cause it's his fault he did it, and not theirs. Astrotoy7
Interesting, incident took place in Quebec so it's headline fo us in Ontario wow. there are a lot of Canadians around at AHTO. I hope you all realise that you have to pay a $10/month tribute to Prime, the awesomest Canadian at LFN Its interesting that Canadians are loved everywhere. I often encourage US friends to say they are Canadian when they are going to the UK or Australia. They'll have a much nicer time if they do - people will go out of their way to help you and show you around. Telling people you are a "yank" is a gamble You shouldnt take it personally though, its mainly your president's and to some extent, Hollywood's fault....lolz mtfbwya

I luuuuurve Canada.. I lived in Michigan for most of my years (Lansing) so Canada was a second home for me.. love it, but man those Canucks drive crazy hehehe... The Source
After reading that article, I have to say those guys should have to pay for what they did. I hope they get hit heavly in fines and such. I do have to say he is also responsible, for he left the video in his schools media lab. However, he most likely didn't think his peers would be crule. In the United States, they would be sued for deformation of character, and be put in jail for the intent of conflicting psychological harm. I don't know about Canada's laws, but we do have an expert here... Darth333? Where are you???

El Sitherino
**** that fat ****. There are other guys who have taped themselves "sabercising" but who are much more talented(eg. Cary and Calvin H in Art of The Saber) and thus havent incurred the mockery of the world still, gettin paid $$$ for such a thing is funny....heh mtfbwya
milo
Geez, I don't know wether to feel sorry for the kid, or to call him a dumb***. That video of him was one of the funniest things i've ever seen though. @astrotoy That video was wicked awesome
Astrotoy7
...@astrotoy That video was wicked awesome yeah, the "story" is a bit sucky, but the swordplay by the Brothers Ho is pretty awesome. Its not guhely suprising to find out that Calvin Ho has actually done some motion capture work for LucasArts He actually was around at LFN for a little while, but I saw much more of him at TFN back in the day. If you like that fanflick, check out Duality and Knightquest. Duality has some awesome swordplay but is more professionally done with costumes, CG sets etc. Knightquest is starting to date but still features the best fanfilm "Vader Vs" performance to date. Ben Fletcher can really move around in that suit mtfbwya
lukeiamyourdad
lolz...the case has already been settled sithy Yeah, they settled off-court. If anyone knows anything about Québec's record of such lawsuits knows that he won't win and even if he does, it'll be for pennies. If he wins the judge would just give him 500$ and tell him to go buy an iPod or something.
