Astrotoy7
Lucasarts have officially announced that they have tendered Day1Studios and Free Radical Designs to work on their next gen content. Day1 could be perhaps involved in the E3 previewed jedi knight type or the new Indy game...it isnt clear at this stage. FRD has worked on titles like Timesplitters, and it isnt entirely cear if they'll be doing a SW title or something different....they do have this hint on their homepage though.... Hey, we’re working with LucasArts on a top secret ‘Next Gen’ project... Perhaps it's a new version of Ballblazer or Rescue on Fractalus or Koronis Rift? Whatever the case, I hope you kept your Atari ST. I indeed remember these very old school games However, the Atari ST one they sneakily left out was the Original Monkey Island game... a new MI game would indeed be nice... (Although it has to be mentioned that Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade was also on the ST) it's at this point I would like to add.... "we need another flight sim" ...imagine XWA style game in next gen.... **drools** mtfbwya
Negative Sun
Sounds good, I'm getting kinda sick of all these next gen rumours and speculations though, I want something tangible...
Jeff
it's at this point I would like to add.... "we need another flight sim" ...imagine XWA style game in next gen.... **drools** I agree, that would be nice I don't mind if it's a SW game or an original title though, as long as it's something interesting. Bob Lion54
it's at this point I would like to add.... "we need another flight sim" ...imagine XWA style game in next gen.... **drools** Yes! I would love this as well. I haven't had the chance to use my joystick in quite a while...er... Get your minds out of the gutter people! I don't mind if it's a SW game or an original title though, as long as it's something interesting. Agreed. Though a Star Wars game would be preferable. Still, it will be interesting to see what comes of this.
Prime
it's at this point I would like to add.... "we need another flight sim" ...imagine XWA style game in next gen.... **drools** I fear that is never to be. It would be awesome though... Thank goodness for XWA Upgrade! Commander Obi-Wan
I'm with Moel on this one. Though like Bob said, I hope its a Star Wars game.
Diego Varen
I need a new Star Wars game to play. I hope it's on PS2, because PC is terrible for playing games, due to crashes, etc. The Indy game wouldn't be bad though. I'm still trying to complete The Emperor's Tomb (Brought it four weeks ago). REDJOHNNYMIKE
@Bob, If you're too busy, there's always public restrooms:rofl: @Pottsie, Uhhh, I'm pretty sure the subject was NG games... and PS2 is NG now?
Mav
@RJM The PS2 is just that cool, that it can be current gen and next gen Yea, I'm sick of hearing/reading all of this next gen crap, and I agree with Negative_Sun, I want to see something, not read about how great it is gonna be. Whatever the game is, K3, XWA, Indy game, Tic-Tac-Toe, I don't care I just want to see something visual, my eyes are bleeding from reading about all this crap and not seeing anything... just my 2 cents
Jae Onasi
@Bob, If you're too busy, there's always public restrooms:rofl: *Jae will never allow her son to enter a public men's restroom ever again without a full biohazard suit....* Yeah, my brief hopes of the possibility of K3 were dashed when I saw what kinds of games the companies have done. Oh well, hopefully those new games will be fun, too.
Char Ell
Day1 could be perhaps involved in the E3 previewed jedi knight type or the new Indy game...it isnt clear at this stage.Actually LEC reps have revealed that LEC is developing the new Indy Jones and Star Wars: "Force Unleashed" games in-house with contributions from ILM. However, the Atari ST one they sneakily left out was the Original Monkey Island game... a new MI game would indeed be nice... (Although it has to be mentioned that Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade was also on the ST)Your hypothesis about a Monkey Island just got a little stronger since we know LEC is making the new Indy Jones game on their own. However there is speculation floating around that Free Radical will make a Mercenaries sequel. But that little teaser you quoted definitely gives pause for thought. it's at this point I would like to add.... "we need another flight sim" ...imagine XWA style game in next gen.... **drools** I would like this too. As Prime indicated though such a game doesn't seem to be something LEC is very likely to do, especially considering comments Peter Hirschmann has made saying he doesn't think LEC will ever make another standalone flight-sim. Unfortunately for me I never bought any of the X-Wing, TIE Fighter, or XWA games when they were readily available. I've been trying to buy the Rogue Squadron game as that seems like the only SW flight sim that can be purchased for a reasonable price.
REDJOHNNYMIKE
@Maverick, PS2=overhyped by celebrities. About as next gen as the sega dreamcast. @Jae, Now Jae, come on and use your thinking cap...if you can provide him with a full biohazard suit you can include some sort of internal sanitation system...possibly burning waste to power the suits air recycling system. If implemented you should consider either, inserting armor plates (he will be beat up every day at recess), sharing you martial knowledge (he will be beat up every day at recess), or homeschooling. You just have to think these things out. If the offspring survived, I would be the best parent like ever.
Char Ell
CVG is reporting that Free Radical is making Battlefront 3. <link> However there is speculation floating around that Free Radical will make a Mercenaries sequel.I have since learned that Pandemic is developing and publishing Mercenaries II. Sabretooth
I indeed remember these very old school games However, the Atari ST one they sneakily left out was the Original Monkey Island game... a new MI game would indeed be nice... (Although it has to be mentioned that Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade was also on the ST) Oh, heck ya! I'd love another Monkey island game, but I wonder if it'll last. The golden age of adventuring was when Monkey Island 2 hit stands. Adventure games have virtually died since then. I don't think LA will ever be able to recreate the MI quality again. Ztalker
Yes! Finally some good news from LA! A new Mokney Island would be SO cool...not to mention a Battlefront 3 using sick graphics. It will be like the movies self!
Char Ell
Yes! Finally some good news from LA! Easy there Ztalker. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. CVG is reporting this. LucasArts and Free Radical neither confirm nor deny that Battlefront 3 is the game they are working on so there is no "official" announcement yet. It is possible that CVG was misinformed by their sources.
Davinq
We had bfIII announcements yesterday in the bf forums. But all this talk of "oh, LucasArts is teaming up with so-and-so to bring us cool graphics" is getting kind of old.
Emperor Devon
Ah, a third installment of the BF series. Should be worth getting. So many new games and sequels! You'd think KotOR III should be coming up soon.
Davinq
Actual game title announcements would be nice. Aside from the Indy game and this BFIII announcement, It's been pretty quiet for the next-gen as of yet.
Diego Varen
The Indy Game and Battlefront III games sound good. I've completed both Battlefronts and Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb.

Commander Obi-Wan
The only LA titles that I am looking forward to are Indiana Jones 2007, Forces of Corruption and the "Darth Vader" game. The BFIII doesn't sound to compelling to me, unless it is released on the Wii.
Jason Skywalker
I don't care if it is released on the Wii or not, as long as it is on the PS2/3 and on the PC, i'm happy.
