Phobias

@Jae, too bad. I already know yours. :xp:

@Everyone, so you can all exploit it, I think her phobia is (surprise!) arachnophobia. :p

:fist: You Evil Ahtonaut, you! ;P

Spiders and I have a mutual pact. They don't make their presence known to me, and I don't feel obliged to squish their little spidey guts into the ground.

I'm gonna go one further. :D

It took a few searches to find, but here it is:

Sometimes kids do get damaged. My dad watched a horror movie about giant spiders and decided it would be hilarious to see how his then-4 year old daughter would react. Well, I've had arachnophobia ever since.

Here's to that award being mine again in '06. :p

I have a phobia of revealing my phobias online. Reminds me of 1984 where Big Brother uses the main character's phobia against him.

I've had a phobia of rats ever since I read that book. Scary, yet incredibly awsome, stuff.

I have a problem with anything that restricts my breathing. I don't know if there's any technical name for that, but I got it. Not really claustraphobic, just... yeah.

And bees. I'm fine with flies, spiders, and pretty much anything like that, except for bees/wasps/hornets. I don't know why. I've never been stung before, I know that. I freak out when one gets too close to me. As in throw-my-food-at-it-and-scream-like-a-little-girl freak out.

Yup.

In case anyone who doesn't live in North America was wondering, yellow jackets are closely related to hornets, but much smaller. They build large paper nests similar to those that hornets build, but usually they're underground or inside a wall. When they're underground, the only indication that they're there is a very small hole, from which you can see them come and go if you're paying close attention. These nests are large and normally house several thousand of the little bastards.

It's all too easy to run over one with a lawn mower, which I've done more than once. When they attack, they don't just "dive bomb" you and fly off to come around for another pass; they land on you and hold on for dear life, stinging you repeatedly until you manage to pick or flick them off. Multiply that by the 2 dozen or so that got on me before I realized what was happening and it should come as no surprise that I'm terrified of them.

@EmpDev: If driders scare you there's an episode of the old D&D cartoon I'd like you to see.

Spiders are fine to me--Trust me, I killed a lot of spiders in Devil May Cry, so already got used to them.

Heights

Bugs in "King Kong" (That really freaks me out)

Eh, and Sith, especially with a cape.

And Fighting.

I think that's it.

*Jae collapses and has to do CPR on herself briefly at the thought of Hallucination making a spelling error*

I have a phobia of Hallucination making grammar and spelling errors.

Ach! You caught me! But to mend my broken ego, I was watching television, talking to my brother, and sitting with my feet halfway up a wall and my back on the seat of my chair while I typed that with my left hand, and I'm right-handed. I have the right to make spelling and grammatical errors under those conditions. :)

I might not remember exactly what they are, but I think it's difficult to be afraid of being dirty and cleaning yourself at the same time. :xp:

well you got them right.

and yeah that is sorta impossible

and after reading that list and knowing what a phobia is I can't say I have any at all.

A phobia (from the Greek φόβος "fear"), is a strong, persistent fear of situations, objects, activities, or persons. The main symptom of this disorder is the excessive, unreasonable desire to avoid the feared subject.
