but that's not really the important part. the best part was seeing the reactions from my family and friends when they opened their gifts. to me, that can make a Christmas without receiving any presents worth it all. :)
Quote for Truth

My biggest kick happen a few days before Christmas when I gave the lady that works for me 7 year-old grandson his Christmas present. I gave him “G.I. Joe Sigma 6 Dragonhawk Vehicle & Thunderwave Jet Boat with 5 figures.” As I helped him put it together on my office floor, he looked up at me and said “this is the greatest Christmas present ever.” I quickly pointed out that his parents had given him a 4-wheeler the year before and he replied, “This is better.” I don’t think it was, but at least he seemed to appreciate the gift.

I got 4 shirts all with Texas Longhorns on them. I got a clock shaped like a football scoreboard, again Texas Longhorns. I also received donations in my name for the SPCA, March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society. Oh, and I will get an $800.00 credit card bill come January.

Gaaaaaaaaaahhh. You spoiled brats.

/grinch mode

Well, my Christmas budget got screwed up a bit by the assh0le who broke into my car last Sunday, busting a window to get...*drumroll*...a useless, broken car stereo on the floor in the back, and the little dangly thing hanging from my rearview mirror. Yep, crackheads will steal anything. Goodbye, $300 deductable.

Anyway, my haul:

New electric grill

Bathrobe and slippers

South Park dvd of the season 2-10 Xmas episodes

$50 gift certificate to the liquor store

Twisted Sister christmas cd (seriously)

Assorted Star Wars bumper stickers, pins, and doodads

Massive Xmas dinner and confectionary treats

Alain de Botton Consolations of Philosophy
Oooh, good book, that.

QFE/QFT!

Anyway... I received countless books and DVDs - no doubt 2008 will be the year when my friends and family wonder where I've disappeared to. Doubtless Devon will be pleased, one of the books is Atlas Shrugged... all 1 100 pages of it.

Pretty good loot this year. I've gotten a small library of books to bury myself in. (As if I didn't have enough reading to do already!)

Wittgenstein! I got his Philosophical Investigations and Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus. (Good gods is that bizarre language, Firefox's spell checker is marking it as wrong.) In addition to a few books by him, I also got a few companion books to his works. No longer will you flaunt your superior understanding of our language to me, Samuel Dravis. :D

It also was a good year for Nietzsche! I'm delighted at my new copies of Beyond Good & Evil, On the Genealogy of Morals, and Thus Spoke Zarathustra. The package they were all in came with a card telling me not to try this at home. Most suspicious. >:|

And various other books - one on Rome, zero, Stalin, and one by Bertrand Russel. There were some other miscellaneous ones, though I can't recall them all.

The small library I received aside, there was also the good old gifts of cash, candy (that's all gone now though :( ) and video games. I've been meaning to play Baldur's Gate 2 for a while!

Pavlos, that book makes an awesome doorstop, so you don't have to worry about reading it. :xp:

Oh hush, you've not even read it! Don't listen to his uninformed lies, Pavlos. You'll love every page of it.

well, im trying not to show off too much...

i got the advanced xbox 360 version + guitar hero 3 and assasins creed, which requires a 60 hz tv, so i got to buy a new one myself soon,

my old retarded tv is hardly even new enough to play gamecube on,

it haven't got a scart, so i had to buy a gamecube adapter, so i could use it, but still, its better than nothing, i did get some clothes, and 500 sek for my birthday, and another 500 sek for x-mas (swedish crowns, our value), (its not as much as it sounds)

i did also get some clothes and a cd (Helloween - Gambling With The Devil)

my birthday is the 24'th, so i get my birthday presents, when we open the other presents together with the family

I forgot to mention these odd jelly beans i got at christmas, i did'nt open them til today. There are fourty different flavours of jellybean! The majority conjure up memories of my past and the smells and tastes associated with them. Every jellybean stirs up a new memory ranging from playing certain games to being in places throughout when i was younger. Quite possibly the weirdest thing i have ever consumed. Mind controlling jellybeans.

*Surfaces after loading 4 days worth of music into iTunes*

My lovely family got me an 8GB iPod Nano (in green, of course, since I love green so much that I chose the Army over the Air Force based on the color of uniforms).

*Goes back to hidey-hole to manage playlists*

I got that for my fiancee as well, though I might have stolen one or two already... :)

I got a pen and a notepad, woohoo! These things should be at the top of everyone's wishlist!

[/sarcasm/]

I also got Galactic Civilizations II and some money. And my family took a trip to Europe, which explains why I've been absent for a few days. Man, the cathedral in Cologne is awesome!!

Anyone wanna mention the kind of presents they gave during the Season of Giving? My sister and I had a GameBoy Advance and and some games that we hadn't played with for a while, and we wrapped them up and gave them to our little sisters for Christmas. They were excited to see the "new" Zelda game (Link's awakening).

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I also got "Minutes to Midnight" by Linkin Park - and awesome CD!

I gave my Mom some poems. "Nothing better than a gift from the heart"...

One year I gave my mom my writing submission for a graduate poetry program-- 10+ pages of poems--she still looks at me funny XD

This year the only gift I got was my sister's old 30gb iPod Video...with its included virus XD it's been interesting.
