Rabish Bini
Hmm, I was hoping this would be "Classic" music, not "classical" music, the only classical I really listen to is my Bach CD.
Inyri
Beethoven. I would add Vivaldi, but technically he's a baroque composer and not a classical one.
Rev7
Eh, I have a whole bunch of classical music on my iPod it's not even funny. I constantly skip them while on shuffle.... Bach, Beethoven, Mozart
Sabretooth
I can't say I listen to as much classical as I ought to, but I know that I like Bach, Mozart, Wagner, Beethoven, Brahms and my personal favourite being Dvorak. Classical music ftw!
Rabish Bini
Classical music ftw! If the "al" wasn't there I'd agree with you
Rogue Nine
Well, if we're gonna be technical, then my favorite classical performing artists are bond. As for composers, Beethoven is my favorite, but Berlioz is a close second, followed by Orff and Rachmaninoff.
Tyrion
Chopin, Mozart, and Vivaldi are my picks.
Stream
I have to say Katherine Jenkins and Amy Nuttal are my favorites but I do listen to Bond a lot too. --Stream
HerbieZ
My favourite piece of music is Fantasia by Thomas Tallis although i'm sure it has a different name though. It's a variation/adaptation of Greensleeves i think, over 14 minutes long.
Salzella
i like Olivier Messaien, because the Ondes Martenot is such a beautiful instrument. Krzysztof Penderecki as well - he was an influence on Radiohead. I also love Michael Nyman's piece for The Piano, which is lovely. Overall I don't listen to much classical though, and I find the more straightforward, classic classical music if you will, to be a bit dull. Revan 411
My favorite is Corynorhinus by Nans Zimmer, and James Newton Howard. I also like plenty of other classical music too. Though, I have too much to list.
JediMaster12
I like my Bach, Vivaldi, Chopin, Mozart and Beethoven. Love a good Berlioz. I find them relaxing at times, a change from the oldies I grew up on.
Astor
Why has no-one mentioned G.F. Handel? My personal favourite has long been Handel - I like his pieces more than anything else. Edward Elgar ranks pretty high up the list too. Wagner, Strauss (Johann), Grieg, Vivaldi, Mozart, Beethoven and Holst are some of my other favorites. Rachel_Ewok
I enjoy Vivaldi, Bach, Tchaikovsky, Gurlitt, Dvořák, Beethoven... I love alot of classical music- mostly because I play them for piano. ^^
DarthSquee
Modern Classical is my favorite. Composers like Paul Hindemith, Gustav Holst, Stravinsky, and of course Mahler.
Pho3nix
Are John Williams, Hans Zimmer and Howard shore considered modern classical composers? If that's the case then those three are my faves.
Astor
Are John Williams, Hans Zimmer and Howard shore considered modern classical composers? If that's the case then those three are my faves. If not, their catalog of works has made them so.
Arcesious
Orff (remember O fortuna?) Michael Flatley - especially for his awesome peice: 'Feet of Flames -Warriors' And who can forget: JOHN WILLIAMS FTW!!! Edit: Also Requiem for a Dream by Clint Mansel... I'm not sure if that's classical though...
King Dando
I've only really become more interested in Classical music since I inherited my Grandfather's music collection after his death. He had some Classical compilation albums that cover Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Tchaikovsky and the like. One particular piece that caught my eye (and my ear for that matter) was Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity by Gustav Holst =)
Pavlos
Daniel Barenboim's rendition of Beethoven's piano sonatas is absolutely fantastic if you want to give it a listen. There's a video of him playing the Pathétique's 2nd movement (Adagio Cantabile) on YouTube. Clicky.
