Astrotoy7 Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Ive heard 3 variations: Star wars fan - when people want to be polite Star wars nerd - when people you know well rib you about it Star wars geek - when other geeks in federation uniforms want to show how you differ to them mtfbwya
Ztalker Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Only problem is, you have the SW fan who visits forums, watches movies and plays the games. And the 40-year old Burt who dresses up like Leia Organa in a slave outfit whilst being VERY overweight in the convention weekends... Think we need 2 names...

mattig89ch Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 how about the new and old warsies? That way those fan girls that dress up like leia are the old ones, and those who are just regular fans are the new ones.
Ascendant_Justice Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 All you need is a Stormtrooper uniform and it all just speaks for itself.
Miltiades Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 We're called "Wookies", I think. We're not all that hairy.
TriggerGod Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 We're not all that hairy. Or rather, you aren't.
El Sitherino Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Are terms nerd and stoner not good enough?
The Doctor Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Two names isn't necessary. All Trek fans are called Trekkies, even though they don't all own a starfleet uniform and attend conventions. And, off topic, aren't Harry Potter fans called Pott-heads, not Muggles?
Astrotoy7 Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Two names isn't necessary. All Trek fans are called Trekkies, even though they don't all own a starfleet uniform and attend conventions. Trekkie indicates that extra degree of fanaticism. I prefer Trekfan to describe my more moderate fondness of Trek I like being a Whoovian, Sherlockian or Hayekphile (aka zomghsalmaissohot) mtfbywa
Rachel_Ewok Posted November 8, 2008 Author Posted November 8, 2008 Star Wars fans need no nickname. We're already pimpin enough So true. =P But I still feel left out... Especially because my brother is a Trekkie and I don't have a cool name. XD As for Muggles? Well I've heard Pott-Heads, but only like, once or twice, and Muggles sounds WAAAY cooler (in my opinion anyways.) Plus I don't like Harry Potter anyways, I just knew that was a rather large fan group.
Lynk Former Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Aren't there Trekkies and Trekkers? Like, Trekkers are the ones who only like the original series, but the Trekkies are the one who like it all?.............. am I making this up? XD
Taak Farst Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 LIFELESS! - WE ARE LIFELESS! We hav no lives! ...wait...skywalkers!!!!! - hey - a lot of trekkies like bein referred to as Spock for christ sake
Chevron 7 locke Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 I asked someone this very question and she said that we were Revanists. but that only applies to people who like KOTOR since revan isn't mentioned in any of the movies
CommanderQ Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Oooo, or Skywalkees, oh, that could be bad...
Alkonium Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Two names isn't necessary. All Trek fans are called Trekkies, even though they don't all own a starfleet uniform and attend conventions. Actually, they do. Trekkies are fans of TOS, while Trekkers are fans of TNG, DS9 and Voyager. I don't know if they've got another one for Enterprise fans.

Admiral Buttercrust Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Sounds like something Gollum would say, to me. "Smeagol happy! Smeagol get to eat warsies!"
CommanderQ Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 The "mean" people call us "wierdees" but don't listen to them, precious, gollum, gollum! Well, we could also be the Stormies, for the IMP fans.
mattig89ch Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Lets just stick with the classics eh? Warsies. I did learn something though, i'm a trekker, not a trekkie.
Chevron 7 locke Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 I think I have come up with a good name for us. The Knights of the Republic What do ya think
