Id like to suggest a recurring "Ask the Cast" segment where podcast hosts answer a few selected questions from members posted in a thread here. Many other sites even tv shows have such a component. It gives us a chance to get to know cast members better. We got a taste of this in the 'movies and games you are looking forward to' bit in Ep2.

Here are some questions I think many would like to hear the cast's responses too:

*What is your favorite SW movie and why?

*What is your favorite SW game and why?

*What was the geekiest SW related thing you have ever done?

*Has LA abandoned PC gamers? Why?

*What do you think of DRM and digital distribution?

*Do you have a handheld? What games would you recommend on it?

*What is your favourite type of pizza?

*What is your favourite area at LFN, at any particular time. eg JK forums 2002!

*What upcoming technology are you most looking forward to?

*What do you think should be the key features in the next gen of consoles(gen4)?

I have several hundred more :p

Having the cast name members they like/don't like and give detailed explanations with quotes would be fun.

Id definitely skip listening to that one, and go get a ice pack for my ears :p

The subject: MMO's

Specifically, can the Old Republic MMO make a dent in World of Warcrafts titan grip on the market share in MMO gaming, and where does that leave SWG? What kind of impact will this have on generational gaming, specifically, could this deter older gamers from playing or even interacting with the newest generation of star wars fans?

As a hardend WoW player and a Star Wars fan, I'd love to talk about this live with ya guys. :D

They pretty much covered all of this in Ep1.

As LFN is so diverse, their content would need to be general enough so that all members toiling away in their respective corners could pick it up and enjoy it. As an EU fan, Im hardly going to ask them what they thought of Booster Terrik painting his ISD Red, and no one except for an EU fan would want to hear about such a thing :xp:

That's what the separate areas are for after all.

Hurt me Jae, I want you to.

As a doctor, I'm sure Jae has taken an oath that would make her likely to do exactly the opposite ;)

WOW!

This is really taking off just the way I wanted it too. Not only are you guys submitting GREAT topic suggestions, but you are all getting involved with it. This is basically YOUR podcast! The way we intended it to be!

Now the tricky part is figuring out which topics we will do in Episode 3. We DID promise a "revolving door" of members on the podcast, but we don't want TOO many people on any one podcast, because it gets confusing for the listener. We already got many members on the starting lines getting ready to get in on the cast. Boba Rhett is a definite possibility for Episode 3. Actually, Rhett was part of our "tarst" cast, but was unable to sit in on Episode 1 and 2 for personal reasons which will be discussed in detail on the cast itself! While Lynk is still very much the executive producer of all things LucasCast, he has graciously volunteered to "sit out" the next cast so that somebody else can speak in his place. I been kind of elected to be "host" because even though I screw up a lot,(so sorry for leaving you out two times Lynkeh!) I guess I am pretty good at driving the discussions from one topic to the next.

While Episode 3 is not fully ironed out just yet, I CAN promise you that many of the topics suggested in this thread, will in fact make it into Episode 3. We will be recording Episode 3 this Sunday, and will have the finished product out the week after, (3/23 if I am not mistaken). There is also a slight possibility we may be "hiring" (in LF terms, that means working for free...lol) some additional members to help us stream things along a bit. We already have candidates in mind, so please do NOT bombard us with private messages and requests.

Glad you are digging the cast, and keep telling your friends about us. The more listeners we gather, the more successful. That will help us in our quest of finding groovy guest speakers for our future podcast.

And yes, leXX DID own me with her comment "Groovy, why do you game?" :D

The only reason I let that slide is that many people don't understand my approach towards video games. I am a "recreational" gamer. Not a true competitive gamer. I seek video games as a source of entertainment, not for competition. If you see my xbox live profile it even states in my bio "I may suck at most games, but I am here to have fun, which is what games were intended for, so deal with it!" That pretty much states it all. I have not "ranked on a server" since SWBFII came out for the original XBOX. That was one of few games that ever came natural to me, and I enjoyed every damn bit of it. leXX and I go way back to the days of Jedi Academy where we used to spar off saber only duels in the Matrix Dojo. And yeah, she used to kick my ass back then too! leXX has always been more of a "GAMER" than me which is why I chose her to be on this show. What is more interesting than a good looking British female gal that can kick your ass online at any game? That's why I will let her insult me pretty much whenever. leXX rules!

Sounds great Groovy :)

I hope a couple of my questions make it in!

me too. For me games are a way to wind down after work and now my postgrad studies. If they stressed me out more, Im sure I would spontaneously combust :D I personally have the most fun playing games like NHL, NBL or FIFA with a bunch of mates - which we do religiously on a Tuesday night, with the amount of beer and pizza consumed being more important than whatever our game score is ;)

Individually, I like RPGs like Mass Effect and NWN2... but due to my epilepsy(short bouts of gaming only), these literally take me years to finish !

Grooves knows I wasn't being vindictive or anything, we go waaaaay back. I hope noone else thinks that I was either. Just having a laugh with him because he always say "I suck at it". That doesn't mean I think he sucks, because I don't. He could probably kick my ass at a hell of a lot of games. ;)

Man I miss Hermes Place Matrix Dojo and Jah. Those were some good times. :(

And Grooves, you're gonna make me cry dammit! :fist:

*kiss*

...

Some really great suggestions here. We will definately be discussing some of them in Episode #3, so stay stuned, and keep them coming. :D

Edit:

I want leXX to give an oral presentation on how to eat a Cadbury Creme Egg. o_Q

You wish. :xp:

Seriously, I would to hear everyone's back stories on how they got involved in LFN and Lucasforums, it would be a great trip down memory lane ! :)

They did this to some extent in their Ep1 intros. (IIRC>) Lynk and Niner from the mists of RSN/XWA, Grooves and Lexx came for JK2, Jae and Moels for KOTOR, which you can pretty much tell from their join dates anwyay :)

It'd be interesting to hear from the pre 2002 members what LFN was like before it was actually LFN in its current form. In 2002, things were definitely hectic.....people were arguing and flaming, but it was all about the game (eg. JK2 > bowing in MP!) rather than the broader social topics :p This of course is LAs fault for not giving us enough decent games to argue about

A couple of other questions Im sure many others would be interested in:

What type of link does LFN have with LA?

Has anyone from LFN ever been invited to Skywalker Ranch?

I haven't been paying too close attention lately so maybe no one has gone to anything lately, but a few years back when E3 was still large we (lfn) always had some people go and pretend to be journalists. :) Granted E3 small now compared to what it used to be, but it might be interesting for anyone to talk about recent, or even past, con experience if it relates to gaming/lfn.

Do forgive me if this has already been mentioned, but have you guys ever thought of having guest performances?

Perhaps reading the thread would help :xp:

Well let's see.

The modern evolution of PC gaming: Modding, hacking, and all the nerdgasmic "norm" that is our modern electronic culture online and offline.

M.U.G.E.N. (if you even know what that is).

Good reads.

Modern gaming.

Retro gaming.

Underground music.

Cartoons.

Anime.

Errhm, count three for porn. :xp:

What will the term "clockwise" mean as more and more clocks become digital?

Do we cut ourselves off from the outside world having online lives?

Relationships for geeks and nerds: do others love us or do we fall in love with each other?

Just some ideas...
