RC-1162 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 http://www.cbc.ca/arts/film/story/2010/10/28/batman-nolan-trilogy-name.html#socialcomments Christopher Nolan has announced that the new film in his Batman franchise will be titled "The Dark Knight Rises" and released on July 20, 2012. 2012!? Damn, that's a huge wait.
TKA-001 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Least the bad guy's not gonna be the Riddler.
Miltiades Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 If I could preorder a ticket, I'd do it right now.
Sabretooth Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I like the title. Acutally, RC scared me for a moment by implying that "Batman 3" will be in the title. : /
Lynk Former Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I wish the fake title "Gotham City" was the real title for this...
jonathan7 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 They should of gone with "The Caped Crusader" as the final title, or failing that I'd of preferred; "Batman Rises" over the title Nolan has gone for.
Titanius Anglesmith Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Considering how The Dark Knight ended, this title is perfect. Personally, I have 100% faith in Nolan - if he's chosen that title, it's for a good reason.
mimartin Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Least the bad guy's not gonna be the Riddler. Judging by the title, is catwoman the villain?
GeneralPloKoon Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Considering how The Dark Knight ended, this title is perfect. Personally, I have 100% faith in Nolan - if he's chosen that title, it's for a good reason. Indeed! Although I was hoping for "The Caped Crusader" as the title.
Revan 411 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Terrible title in my opinion, and I was hopping for Tennant to appear in Batman 3. Ah well, knowing Nolan, it's probably for the best. Still looking forward to it, regardless of what villain shows up. I just hope they don't add Catwoman to the final story draft.
RC-1162 Posted October 29, 2010 Author Posted October 29, 2010 I read somewhere that Nolan stated that the title might get changed so I'm not too worried about that. And anyway, if the movie kicks ass as strongly as TDK then I probably wouldn't care too much about what it's called.
Pho3nix Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Kind of a lame title, still excited though Judging by the title, is catwoman the villain? lulz.
RC-1162 Posted January 20, 2011 Author Posted January 20, 2011 Sorry for the bump, but new news out yesterday: Bane is the villain in TDKR, and I think Catwoman is kind of the anti-hero, I don't know. Tom Hardy to play Bane and Anne Hathaway is playing Catwoman. Source: http://insidemovies.ew.com/2011/01/19/batman-hathaway-catwoman-hardy-bane-dark-knight-rises/ I think this is awesome! Bane was one of the few to damage Batman badly enough to take him out of commission for a while and one of his very few intellectual rivals. And many people probably know this but Bane broke Batman's back in the Knightfall series of comics.
Sabretooth Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 in b4 I am the only one who doesn't mind Anne Hathaway I'm not sure how much screentime it will take for her to erase my memories of Halle Berry though. YES YOU STUPID WOMAN LEAVE 80% OF YOUR BODY EXPOSED NOBODY GOING TO STAB YOU OR SHOOT YOU OR ANYTHING JUST KILL THEM WITH YOUR SEXY POSES
Bob Lion54 Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 The Clone and the Princess Vs. Batman. I'm going with Batman on this one... Though, Ann Hathaway is gorgeous, so I'm not really unhappy about this. Not at all.
Pho3nix Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 I've always liked Miss Hathaway so no complaints from me.
Astor Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Anne Hathaway isn't exactly the first person to spring to mind when it comes to playing Catwoman, which is probably why it'll work.
Miltiades Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Yep, no complaints here either. Great news.
mimartin Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 catwoman Just call me the Nostradamus of Lucas Forums.
Ztalker Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Anne Hathaway isn't exactly the first person to spring to mind when it comes to playing Catwoman, which is probably why it'll work. Yeah, Mr. Ledger wasn't my first choice for the Joker either, especially after seeing A Knight's Tale. Thought he was a bit of a 'good-looker' like all the others. He blew me away in the Dark Knight though. The pencil scene was...incredible. Thanks for this news RC!
The Doctor Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Who's going to complain about Anne Hathaway in a catsuit? Honestly. Can't deny, though, both these villains have a great deal of ground to make up for, thanks to previous movies that have used the characters. The Halle Berry movie was terrible, and the Film That Shall Not Be Named was even worse. Made Bane look like a zombie-form Ahnult. I've been looking forward to this movie for quite a while, despite my traditional apathy towards Batman (thank you very much Mr. Burton); now that we may actually see a decent portrayal of Bane, I'm even more excited.
JediMaster12 Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Bane and Selina Kyle? No complaints here. I'm actually looking forward to the next Dark Knight film.
Titanius Anglesmith Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 People doubted Ledger. People doubt Hathaway. Nolan knows what he's doing. And I'm pretty ****ing psyched for Tom Hardy. Eames was the best thing about Inception.
