Don't care will be watching Star Wars on blu-ray in a couple weeks without the whining. If I decide I want to go old school, then I just have to figure out if my laserdisc player can be hooked up to this TV.

DarthParametric Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 adamqd said: also the vader "NO" and Obi Wan "YO" are fake, £50 on it.So, how will you be distributing the proceeds of this lost wager? I will accept cash or PayPal.
Lynk Former Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Well................ either way............... the truth is................. I still hate myself enough to buy the Star Wars collection on Blu-ray even if all of the bad stuff really is 100% true... I'll just get the original versions of the movies through... other methods.
Prime Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 I wasn't really planning on getting it anyway. I'm happy with my DVD set. One day maybe...
Lynk Former Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 One day when they release the special limited run original theatrical edition collection with a marked up price? XD

I accept paypal bud. also, I hear they are putting in a single CGI tear on Han's Cheek after he has no other option but to shoot greedo.
Alexrd Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 DarthParametric said: It's not meant to be human - it's meant to be a Krayt Dragon roar. Yelled by a human. adamqd said: "cough" Regarding ANH, they've only "fixed" (the damn saber is not even blue yet) that specific shot, not the entire sequence. Why did they bother in giving the ewoks new eyes, etc, and leave the sabers like that? I don't mind most of the changes (so far, only Vader's no no and Hayden's head bothered me), but why not make some of the effects more consistent? Isn't that supposed to be the point of the SE's? Make the saga more consistent?
DarthParametric Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Alexrd said: Yelled by a human. No, imitated by a Jedi. Remember the whole "Force can have a strong influence on the weak-minded" thing? If some regular Joe just let out a yell, they'd beat him to death with their gaffi sticks.
Lynk Former Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 @ DP: I'm sure what Lucas is try to convey with this altered scene is that all of the hardcore gangbangers that existed in Ep2 were killed off by angry moisture farmers so the only type of sand people that were left were the wimpish tryhard posers. "The sand people are easily startled, but they'll soon be back--and in greater numbers." See, tryhard posers. "You wanna fight, bro?! You wanna fight?! Fine, we'll be back with our COUSINS, bro!"
Boba Rhett Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Krayt Dragon yell is terrible. Nooooo yell is terrible. Have not yet decided on CGI Ewok eyes. That is all.
Alexrd Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 DarthParametric said: No, imitated by a Jedi. That's right. Imitated. We all can agree that it's not just a common yell.
adamqd Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I cant believe no one has mentioned Han's CGI Tear...
Alkonium Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 adamqd said: I cant believe no one has mentioned Han's CGI Tear... Might have something to do with you not backing that one up.
TKA-001 Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 If I may quote someone else from another place, on the supposed "Krayt dragon" yell: Quote If the sandpeople thought Obi-Wan was a krayt Dragon cause of the damn sound he made when they could see him[, then they're pretty damn stupid.] As far as the movie, free of any over-explanative EU malarkey is concerned, it was just supposed to be a spooky noise.
adamqd Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Alkonium said: Might have something to do with you not backing that one up. Or the fact that you cant detect banter.
mimartin Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Lucas should have made Obi-Wan do a Anakin whine. Pretty sure that would scare Tusken Raiders.
TKA-001 Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 adamqd said: Or the fact that you cant detect banter. With respect, it really wasnt that good a joke.
Q Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 ^He was kidding. At least, I hope he was kidding. Alexrd said: Why did they bother in giving the ewoks new eyes, etc, and leave the sabers like that? Because Lucas doesn't care about improving the quality of the films. All he cares about is shoehorning his latest special-effects masturbation into them and discovering exciting new ways to piss off his fanbase. In the end, he's just a troll.

Q Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 LOL @ the comments. Quote lucas: i am altering these classics. pray i do not alter them any further EDIT: George's latest antics are hardly surprising at this point, and they don't detract from the fact that the guys over at originaltrilogy.com now have a true 1080p source from which to derive full-HD "despecialized" editions.
Lynk Former Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 The people in this thread need to be cheered up somehow...
