iPhone4 owner.

Absolutely essential business tool, as I can get/make email text and phone messages whenever I need to. I am a freelancer, networking is crucial to the business, and it enables that part of my job greatly.

The apps are the other side of the excellence. I can make an entire lighting or grip package order on the phone, send it directly to the warehouse, and know exactly my rental rate up front without speaking to anyone or needing to enter any text. I can find and follow the sun and know where it will be at what time in my location, which helps me know what lights will need to play (or not play) and when I will need to amp things up or let the grips do the work while I play Flight Control (a game :D ) Just a couple examples, there are many great apps, for banking as well it is very helpful and an actual time-saver: depositing your check with your phone is a godsend.

I got my smartphone initially for work. I can send a few emails to the people who need them from home before I get to work so I can do my veg out thing when I get to the office. It was also very handy in finding where the next plant is before I get to where the someone told me it was only to find out I have to take 3 left turns because of all the one way streets UGH!

And if someone has to call me from work, I charge them 4 hours each time I get called after hours. I tell them up front that I'll take the 4 hours off on my next business day. It stops them from abusing it.

And I use angry birds when I'm waiting on a meeting, or when off work, I play it while waiting for the table at the restaurant to be ready. it makes the time go MUCH quicker.

HTC Desire ftw, I used to have an iPhone but they have become such a cliché of modern society, plus I love the fact I can customise pretty much anything to do with my phone without Steve Jobs doing a full cavity search on me :)

Oh and no death grip or silly plastic cases either lolz

I just recently had to buy a new phone b/c my Palm Centro BLOOOOOWS! $30 bucks a month as a requirement? Nonsense. I'll stick with "dumbphones" as long as I don't have to blow almost $400 a year on a less interesting and viewable internet that I can take with me.

I'm a bit surprised at all the comments about how smartphones are "dumb". They definitely provide utility... unlimited access to the internet in your pocket, mp3 players, video players, social networking capabilities, phone (duh), plus many more. I also use my Android quite frequently as a navigational device using the GPS. It's a TomTom, iPad, phone, and mini-laptop all in one, ultra-portable device. Definitely not dumb. Oh, and the (free) audible app makes my commute to work tolerable.

I am anti-Apple, and I love Google, so I went with an Android. I did have a blackberry beforehand, and went through some withdrawals when I first made the switch, but now I'm happy I did.

I'm probably also a bit skewed because I don't think that they're expensive... my phone was under $200 and another $30 a month isn't unreasonable to me.

I voted No, but i want one, because I like having all my devices in one, rather than having 3 or 4 to carry around everywhere.

Being a nokia fan, for a long time i intended to get a high end nokia like the X6

(or now, X7)

or an N8,

but the rise of Android has made me reconsider, with all of its awesome features, etc.

In the beginning, i thought that most android phones all looked the same and rather boring, so i disregarded them. But now that excuse is gone with the likes of phones such as the Motorola Flipout

and and the LG GT450

Another thing ive been looking out for are phones with Nvidia Tegras in them. Not seen too many though. (intersting fact: nvidia's codenames for their upcoming tegra series are names like Kal-El, Wayne, and Stark. How cool is that?)

Ideally, i'd love to have a nicely designed Nokia phone with Tegra running on Android. But thats unlikely to happen as Nokia seems to have partnered with Microsoft for their smartphone OS.

Well, sometimes I'm a smartass on the phone. Does that count?

lol'd

My Samsung P3 portable media player (or mp3 player if you'd like) has a 24 hour battery life with medium-low settings... 26-27 on lowest settings and 16-18 hours on absolute highest settings playing flac files... I just wish smartphones with the same capabilities could do the same.

I'm not a suit, but I have a smart phone. That way, I can access information when I need it whether its the news, cyber dictionary, or of course facebook when I'm on my lunch break. plus I can also get pandora radio and youtube so thats awesome.
