Fiestainabox
Whats the best ingame soundtrack that you've ever heard? My Favorites: Halo (XBX/PC) -The Opening Suite makes me cry, seriously.. Black (xbx/ps2) -Done by the London Symphony Orchistra,* Though you often can't hear it due to the ak-47 blaring and a RPG being launched at your face. Stubbs The Zombie-Rebel Without A Pulse - 50's music covered by modern Artists. Need For Speed-Underground 2 - I only really like the theme song, Riders Of the Storm by the Doors and Snoop Dog**. *I think, Not Positive **Not a big fan of Snoop Dog
Det. Bart Lasiter
GTA: San Andreas for PC.
FiEND_138
I only really like the theme song, Riders On the Storm by the Doors and Snoop Dog**. Yeah I'm sure Morrison was rolling in his grave when that disgusting rape of the song came out. Hmmm... Probably both Halo soundtracks, & the KotoR series. There's more but they escape the mind at the moment. *Edit* VtM:BL Some of the stuff off of CoD & Mario -how could I forget Mario...-
milo
The best game soundtrack ever is OBVIOUSLY the original Mario Bros. one.
stoffe
Halo menu music Homeworld tutorial/intro music (vocal Adagio for Strings) Deus Ex:Invis War menu music Tomb Raider:Legend menu music ...for more or less the same reason, since they have the thing I like about them in common. Other than that, VtM:Bloodlines had an in-game (not menu) soundtrack that fitted the setting perfectly, and I liked how Halo used the music to reinforce what was happening in the game, not just as some looping background noise like many games do. I liked a couple of the music tracks in Dungeon Siege as well (the first game with Jeremy Soule music I played, after that they all sound more or less the same). (In contrast, Morrowind probably had the worst music of any game. Not because the music itself, but because the lack of variety. There were like 1 ambient track and 1 combat track that were used all the time. Quite annoying in a 200+ hour game. )
The Doctor
The Pirates of the Carribbean game for Xbox has a pretty cool soundtrack, I guess, but nothing tops KotOR's, imho...
Bob Lion54
The Legend of Zelda- Especially the Main Theme and Zelda's Lullaby. Though, all the music is good. Mario Bros. A classic. The Oblivion Soundtrack. Actually, anything done by Jeremy Soule is pretty darn good. He has done a lot of great game music. Oblivion, Neverwinter Nights, and Dungeon Siege 1&2 to name a few. Oh yea! He also did KotOR 1's music. Check out his IMDb page if you're so inclined. - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0815819/ Theres more, but thats all I can think of at the moment... Maverick5770
I really Like the Halo Soundtrack, another of my favorites is Mechwarrior 2 : Lone Wolf soundtrack, that is one of the best ever. As are the tracks for NFS underground 1&2. And who could forget Mario Bros.
igyman
Most definitely Homeworld, Deus Ex 1 & 2, VTM Bloodlines, Hitman 2, 3 & 4, GTA San Andreas and quite a few more.
Master Jimmy
Mortal Kombat: Deception The Dragon King Has Left The Building It's perfect for the final battle. The ominous choir in the background, makes it somewhat freaky. Perfect.
stingerhs
hmm, i have to give props out to a number of great soundtracks: Halo & Halo 2 Chronicles of Riddick: EFBB Rome: Total War Kotor 1 & 2 TES IV: Oblivion Hitman: Contracts and Hitman: Blood Money Star Wars: Republic Commando (that game had several numbers that weren't by John Williams, and they were fantastic)

90SK
It's a tough choice. Of the ones I have, I'd say: Monkey Island Killer 7 Jet Set Radio KotOR I & II
JediKnight707
GTA 3, VC, SA and the best is (besides MB's original) Metal Gear Solid.
SithAnnihilator
I think the best game song I've ever heard would have to be the intro movie song (right before the title screen came up) for The Legend of Dragoon (PSX) I can't say I really like the 'music' of the kotor series. Which is ironic considering I can't stop playing the games.
St. Jimmy
Yes, the HALO music is excellent especially the bit where you're coming out of the control room and the electric guitar starts up. Just great. There's the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games aswell. damn, some of those songs are cool. Especially THPS 2. I've never been able to find the soundtrack in stores though and I can't be bothered buying it off the net. And I like Underground 1. mainly the rock songs though, (Some of the 'blingy' ones are annoying) Age of Empires 2 (and the conqourers expansion) also had some really decnet music. Sabretooth
Deus Ex - The game had excellent music, which was in sync with the turmoil and confusion in the game. I love it, I still hum it now and then. Golden Sun 1 & 2 - Although it was a GBA game, it had stunning music that fit it with the game's atmosphere. Deus Ex Invisible War - Menu Music Halo - Nice action-packed music, but not particularly listenable out of the game. Unreal Tournament Series - UT's music is a blend of serenity and fast-paced action. I love it, espcially UT2003's title theme, AS-Glacier, AS-Mothership, DM-Hyperspace2, DM-Deck17 and DM-Curse4. The original UT title theme was great, too. Age of Empires II - It had the sweet title track I still hum today. Civilization IV - It contained some great classicals, including some of Bach, Beethoven and other classics. I also loved the opening theme and the main menu theme! There are probably many more, but I'll have ot remember them.
Diego Varen
GTA Vice City/San Andreas (PS2) - Both had really good Soundtracks. GTA III/Liberity City Stories wasn't good. I hope Vice City Stories has a good Soundtrack when it comes out. Tony Hawk's Underground (PS2) - Mainly Kiss and some other songs. KOTOR/TSL (PC) - Nothing compared to John Williams, but good enough. Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb (PS2) - Sounds a lot like the films and it's music fits the level you're playing. Spider-Man (PSX) - A classic PSX Soundtrack. I love it. I'll see if I can think up some more later.
Darth InSidious
TSL. KotOR's music is quite good, and easy listening but it doesn't quite have the unique qualities of TSL's soundtrack, IMO.
HerbieZ
Both Kotors and the almost cinematic quality of the Music in Oblivion.
St. Jimmy
Actually, If any of you guys ever play a flash game called Dynasty Street, It has a pretty cool soundtrack.
Sabretooth
KotOR's music was great too, and thankfully different from the usual SW music. I was disappointed with KotOR II's music, though. It was slower and more lamenting, which gave me the creeps in the spine.
Jeff
I really liked Halo's soundtrack, and KotOR's is another one of my favs.
