REDJOHNNYMIKE Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 I wish I hadn't given my copy of every descent game to friends I don't see anymore:(
King Dando Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 SONIC THE HEDGEHOG On Sega Megadrive And also Pokémon on GameBoy/GameBoy Advance I'd say Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was better, unless you mean all of them as a whole, in which case, I'll agree with you. The music from those games is permanently etched onto my brain. I sometimes find myself humming Casino Night Zone or something like that.
Samuel Dravis Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 I wish I hadn't given my copy of every descent game to friends I don't see anymore:(You should get D3 off ebay for a few bucks or something. We could get together with a few people off the descentbb.net and have a fragfest. ^_^
Bob Lion54 Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Console-- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - Probably the first game I played constantly. PC-- Fallout2 - My first RPG. It set the standards pretty high.
Phantom Joker Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Is there a 2D Doom? I'm pretty sure there is only one real Doom, and It's in 3D. Well..2 1/2D, actually. But I have to put it down as my all time favorite, based on the number of times it kept me up until 2-3 am. "Just one more level..." There are a couple of others that stand out that I would put in my top 5 (in no particular order): My favorite was Maniac Mansion for NES --Day of the Tentacle (the sequel to Maniac Mansion) --TIE Fighter --RISK --Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Disclaimer: Actual Top 5 may vary with time, memory, mood, and number of beers that Phantom Joker has consumed prior to making the list.
Hayden Kered Posted January 11, 2007 Author Posted January 11, 2007 It is Doom II that I have for PC. The game play for it is 3D but the characters are in 2D, now that I remember, so it's 50/50. BTW, does any one remember the Power Pad and Power Glove for NES, and the Super Scope and Mario Paint for Super NES?
Rabish Bini Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 So hard, so i'll post a couple: -Mario bros. (NES) -Megaman 2 (NES) -Mike Tysons Punch Out (NES) -Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo (Arcade) -Doom (PC) -Wolfenstein 3D (PC) -Duke Nukem 3D (PC) @Astrotoy - I still have my Donkey Kong 2 handheld.

Renegade Angel Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Chrono Trigger is pretty cool, but I gotta say that the first Doom is pretty damn cool!

Jae Onasi Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Asteroids, Circus Atari, and the Atari version of The Empire Strikes Back.
Q Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Console: Pitfall and Pitfall 2 for the Atari 2600. PC: The Space Quest series.
Boba Rhett Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 From my very early youth I'd go with The Olympic Games for the Commodore 64.
DarthMuffin Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Not really an "old school" game, but Baldur's Gate (with sequel and expansions) is my favourite game of all time, and I am proud to say that I try to find the time to play from the start of BG1 to the end of BG2's expansion once a year. PC: WarCraft II Console: Zelda 3 (SNES) - best SNES game ever made, and a true classic
Arátoeldar Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Not really an "old school" game, but Baldur's Gate (with sequel and expansions) is my favourite game of all time, and I am proud to say that I try to find the time to play from the start of BG1 to the end of BG2's expansion once a year. Definitely one of my favorite games. However the top prize would go to Planescape: Torment Games I can no longer Play: Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe for the PC, B-1 Bomber and Space Shuttle both for the TRS-80.
KotO[REvan] Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 For the Nintendo 64, Donkey Kong 64. That game was badaz. Basically, you're Donkey Kong and you have to find all your golden bananas, and at the end you have to beat the giant crocodile... I forgot his name xD
DarthMuffin Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Definitely one of my favorite games. However the top prize would go to Planescape: Torment I really wish I had bought that one. I might try to find it eventually. ']For the Nintendo 64, Donkey Kong 64. That game was badaz. Basically, you're Donkey Kong and you have to find all your golden bananas, and at the end you have to beat the giant crocodile... I forgot his name xD I could never get into that one myself. It seemed like a Mario 64 rebake with more features but a wobblier gameplay. And the bad guy is King K. Rool
Titanius Anglesmith Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Super Star Wars, Super ESB, and Super RotJ are the best ever. Playing those along with Donkey Kong 1, 2, and 3 on my SNES was my favorite pastime back in the day.
