lukeiamyourdad Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 It is natural. Someone congratulates the mod team every once in a while. It's always good to give the SWK staff a good pat on the back every once in a while. Some...people...claim that rules here are too tight. Of course, I disagree, they're just tight enough. It keeps the atmosphere breathable, with enough enforcement but not so much as to silence discording opinions. You'd be amazed how crappy some other forums are simply because there is no rules or there's too much censorship. The Seeker said: So, after seeing Jebus's ridiculous rant thread and going wow, if I was a Mod, this would so be closed. I honestly had the same reaction. The forums shouldn't be used as a blog space and that clearly had no intention of being a thread worthy of discussion either.

People who complain the rules are 'too strict' are simply the ones breaking them. Rules are there to keep everyone happy and enjoying themselves, and it's a good moderation team that upholds those rules despite complaints. It speaks to a lot of courage, dedication, and high moral standards.
adamqd Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Some noses are changing color round here... J/K No, it's Very friendly here and the mods do a good job of keeping the obnoxious away... well sometimes...
El Sitherino Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 This talk about things being just the right amount of tight is disturbing me...
Marius Fett Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Moving aside from obscene innuendos... The staff here are ALOT better than many other forums i've visited. They actually take the time to listen to both sides of problems and not just go along with the member with the best rep unlike on other forums too. So thanks SWK staff! And also to the staff in the other forums too.

Pho3nix Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Sometimes mods can bee too serious imo, but generally they do a really good job.
Rogue Nine Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Well c'mon Pho3nix. Don'tcha know internets is serious business?

Ferc Kast Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Clearly what Obi-Wan said in in the following quote from The Phantom Menace must have been referring to the relationship between users and moderators. Obi-Wan Kenobi said: What happens to one of you will affect the other. You must understand this. Thus, I proclaim my appreciation for the moderaters in all that they do.

Well you know, I like things just perfect. Makes it all the more enjoyable. That's why that no matter what happens I come back here for more. Ok, now I stop. On a more serious note, although mods do a good job, I think the community also deserves some congratulations. People in general are quite friendly to everyone, including newbies. I remember trying to join another forum and was welcomed with aggression even though what I posted was absolutely harmless...not even a "hot" subject.
Rev7 Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Well, thanks mods/administrators for the great work that you do every day! So keep it up!
Hallucination Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Thanks to the mods for putting up with the QQing and encouraging the pew pewing! <3

Quite true, these are some of the friendliest forums I've encountered on the net, and one of the very few I feel like actively participating on rather than just lurking. So big thanks to everyone in the community for making this place into what it is.

I know I agree cheers to the mods and Rogue Nine
Jae Onasi Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Merged "Thank the Mods" with this thread.
Arcesious Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 The mods here are better than any other site i've ever been to. (How well do you mods get paid to put up with us anyways? : )
DeadYorick Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Id think that if there were different mods then the ones we have now Lucasforums would be a particularly different place.
Astrotoy7 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 aw, I missed the lovefest AHTO is an unusual little island. Its like one of those freaky sci-fi places where everyone wears white, everything is clean and nothing bad happens It is pleasant...but can get a bit dull...(thus my regular absences) It is a normal part of human interaction to be at odds and disagree at times, if you hang around here too much, you'll quickly forget that Im glad Rhett, Sithy and Prime are still around.... reminds me of the craziness of the swamp circa 2002. That place was bananas !! L4M3R! The swamp is a sad and sorry shadow of its old self now, and AHTOs positive vibe makes it a safer place for an old man like me to hobble around mtfbwya
