So what exactly do you guys think I should do? Some guy invited me to be the lead singer in his band, and I'm considering it... but I want to discuss it with a few people first...

There's not really enough information here to give a decent opinion. This is something you should probably discuss with your family (since time spent with the band and practicing has an impact on them too) and people who have worked with the band, past and present. Your family knows you, and they should meet the band and get to know them to make sure you're all a good match for each other. They may also see potential pitfalls that you might not see since you're in the thick of things. You should also talk to current and former band members--current ones to know what's expected of them now, and former members (if any) to find out what kinds of problems they had and why they left. They're going to give you much better information than anyone here will be able to give.

Though SHEER FORCE OF WILL I was directed here by an unnamed entity who shall remain anonymous through SHEER FORCE OF WILL. My thought is that you should attempt to discover the things like Jae said, except that instead of talking you should mentally attempt to wrack their brains through SHEER FORCE OF WILL. Or, barring that, you should start singing into the microphone and hit the notes perfectly through SHEER FORCE OF WILL. This will undoubtedly please your friend, who may start spontaneously recording your VIRTUOSO PERFORMANCE through SHEER FORCE OF WILL. Regardless of your decision, I suggest you decide decisively, because no one likes half-baked rock stars who only deliver one song and then quit through SHEER FORCE OF WILL...

No doubt many of you are wondering how such SHEER FORCE OF WILL was contained in Mr. Samuel Dravis' post and why such a display of SHEER FORCE OF WILL was displayed to you all in the first place. To this I answer that it was I, who through SHEER FORCE OF WILL and WILL alone, directed him to display the SHEER FORCE OF his WILL here. It was upon the light blue-tinted skies of the Skype, when through SHEER FORCE OF WILL all hope at shutting the spool of blue-tinted threads was lost to us, that we realized such a feat could be accomplished only through SHEER FORCE OF WILL. But like the Bobicus, the nature of the spool of thread is a temporal thing, and our SHEER FORCE OF WILL actually was not sufficient to close it. But through SHEER FORCE OF WILL we were able to learn how to manipulate our wills to alter the world around us through SHEER FORCE, so our attempted endeavor was not entirely wasted. (However, it was only through SHEER FORCE OF WILL that it was not.)

This may all seem very off-topic, confusing, inane, worthless, wretched, and a thousand other adjectives to convey impertinence in all its forms to you, but through SHEER FORCE OF WILL I will make this not so. Clearly, whether you should join this band of yours or not is heavily dependent upon your own SHEER FORCE OF WILL. There are many rock stars within the rock star business these modern days, but I have abstained from listening to all forms of music through SHEER FORCE OF WILL. Why you may ask? The why is that I am disappointed at the lack of SHEER FORCE OF WILL displayed by many of these supposed rock stars. SHEER FORCE OF WILL is what makes for good music; why, I do believe it sounds rather like something that is... that is... well, I cannot find the words to describe how SHEER FORCE OF WILL sounds, but through SHEER FORCE OF WILL alone I will convey it to you. Is it conveyed. IS IT CONVEYED. THROUGH MY SHEER FORCE OF WILL WAS I ABLE TO CONVEY THIS TO YOU?!

Oh, right, the band. It must be through your own SHEER FORCE OF WILL that you decide such a thing, not through my or Sam's or anyone else's own.

Edit: Just for the lulz.

I think it's important to remember at critical moments such as these that a bag of oranges truly is the perfect weapon. Think about it: you can smack the bejesus out of someone with a bag of oranges and, because they are oranges, no permanent marks will be left. Can you do this with a bag of potatoes? I submit that you cannot.

Besides, as anyone who has the seen the Godfather movies can tell you, oranges are the omen of death. I hope that helps. Take care.

No. You shouldn't. Why? Because you're asking a bunch of men and women who you've never met if you should, which suggests you've already asked the friends you have that you have actually met in the flesh and they've responded in the negative. Well, at least, that's my interpretation.

And after they're kind of squashed, you just let them sit and mold a few days. If blunt force trauma doesn't do the trick, fungal infection surely will.

Ask them if they get a lot of groupies that wish to have sex with them. If the answer is yes, then I command you to join as said lead singer. If the answer is no, then you may want to rely on SHEER FORCE OF WILL and do something completely unbecoming a rock star and do what Jae said. But I wouldn't recommend that, because it is entirely too logical for any sort of lead singer.

Just remember, the point of being a lead singer is to get laid.

Contrary to popular belief SHEER FORCE OF WILL alone will not suffice. Before one can truly make use of SHEER FORCE OF WILL, one must travel to the mountains of Peru to learn the Ways of Wierding from the Shamans of WIKIWIKIWHAWHAWEST. Once you learn these ways of Olde, you will understand the proper way to fully utilize your SHEER FORCE OF WILL.

Only then will you be the WIKIWIKIWAHWAHWESTMASTER and be fully able to unleash the awesome powers of SHEER FORCE OF WILL!

If you want to sing and you like the band go for it, life's too short to do something you don't want to. o_Q

That sounds like a lot of effort just to score with some easy chicks.

It's either that or put the 'sensual' back into 'non-consensual' (through SHEER FORCE OF WILL).

@tk: I love you, you mothertrucker. o_Q

It depends on whether you know these people, whether you like them, what music you'll be playing, and whether you enjoy it or not, I remember I was asked to be the bassist in this one band, of whom I only knew one of the members.

I was only a member for a month or two, and even though they were really nice people, I quit because we turned into just another Indie band, and our music scene has enough of those already. I tried to get us to do something different, but they all greatly overwhelmed me with their musical narrow-mindedness, and because of this, I didn't enjoy it.

Get them to organise some sort of practice session, and just see what the other members have to offer. Like with all these type of things, you won't know until to try :)
