Happy Easter, Happy Passover!

This is a thread to wish everyone peace and joy for the spring holidays of any religion or tradition in a positive way. Please share your traditions--favorite foods, activities, and so forth.

Today we gave our kids an Easter basket early in the morning--it had to have Peeps, of course, and some jelly beans and malted milk Robin eggs. We also got Rock Band 1 instead of more candy. We went to church, then went out to eat for lunch. Normally we have a big family dinner at my dad's house, but he's visiting his sister out in AZ and the rest of the family is scattered, so I'm making dinner for our own family today (deviled eggs, roast beef with carrots and onions, noodles, gravy, Irish soda bread, jello with mandarin oranges, and a cherry pie or crisp). We were out so late last night that we didn't get a chance to color our eggs so we're doing that tonight. They will make yummy deviled eggs later this week. :D

My deviled egg recipe:

Hard-cooked eggs, halved, with the yolks scooped out.

Miracle whip to taste

Mustard to taste

Salt and pepper to taste

Paprika to sprinkle on top for color

Take the egg yolks and mash in a bowl. Add Miracle whip and mustard. Mix well. Add salt and pepper to taste. Put the yolk mix into a plastic bag with a cake decorating tip of your choice in it (I use a star tip). Squirt mix into the hollowed out portion of the egg white. Sprinkle lightly with paprika. Serve chilled.

Thanks Easter Bunny.. bawk bawk!

Hope everyone had a great Easter. I know I did (not sure about my stomache though... too much Cadbury goodness) :D

Our family pretty much gets together and buys one giant basket. Then each member of the house 'donates' treats to the basket we usually don't indulge in during the year.. then we go nuts... nom nom nom

Of course my mother loves it since it's one of the few times during the year she can get all her kids together in the same place. And of course, I get to see my sisters so all is good.. hehehe

Happy, happy, happy! Passover AND Easter. Not that my family is formal or nothin'.

No chocolate or eggs. Just brown sugar ham, my mum's whipped up'n'fluffy mashed potatoes and brown gravy. Asparagus and lemon hollandaise sauce. Biscuits 'n' butter.

Since I was visiting and passed through Lake Tahoe to do this, I decided to see my buddy there running "the energy drink outlet" and I got some Bawlz caffeinated Root Beer, or as it's titled G33k B33r.

Look up the store "The Energy Drink Outlet", google, ebay, even facebook.

Had a nice scenic drive there and back home.
