MODDERS: How do you get into the modding zone?

Depends on what your doing, and if the idea is yours, and yours alone. I usually do something similar, but Bowie doesn't exactly fit the bill for me(which isn't to say I don't like his music).

Actually it is Peter Schilling that wrote it. Bowie did the original song with Major Tom in it, "Space Oddity".

Both very good though.

Since it's getting to be winter, I will probably switch from soda to coffee. :thmbup1:

Mmm, that sounds good right now..

Well, I like to be taken for a nice expensive meal, then preferably a Royal Shakespeare Theatre production, after that a nice class of fine red wine in a classy establishment, followed by a romantic walk over a moon lit bridge gets me in the mood perfectly.

Sorry, did you say modding zone? <.< >.>

Same here save for the romantic walk...step 3 usually knocks me off :weirdo:

Sorry, you were saying "modding zone"?

Anything but a soft drink: it makes me feel sick each time. Turning on the PC usually does it...provided there was no soft drink and/or romantic walk over a moon lit bridge :xp:

It is kind of a long story so bear with me. I started modding because I was stressed with school and the extra responsibility (I had just began middle school) that I had thrust on my shoulders. Plus the death of a very dear friend of mine and the arresting of another was really leaving me very depressed. In fact I was so depressed, I was having therapy for it. I was failing all my classes, was being yelled at by my parents almost daily because of the poor job I was doing in school and how they were ashamed of me which made me even more depressed. I was needing something to cheer me up. I was approached by a friend who owned the KOTOR series and told me I should get into modding as it would cheer me up. At that point I was willing to try anything. So I got into modding and I just got hooked on it. Now here I am, happy and modding. But I still have trust issues and have difficulty "letting people in" as I did not want to go through that hell again. The whole experience made me a loner, which I am content with as it gives me more time to mod.

Seriously, that is really touching. I think modding helps us all out in some way or another... it can cure boredom, it can take your mind off of things. It's calming in the sense that your mind is focused completely on 2da values, NWN syntax, model verts... you get the picture.

Ehh... Modding zone? I start modding when i dont feel like playing anything(including guitar), writing songs, visiting my friends, eating, drinking etc... Then i go on a modding spree and spit out mods for maybe half a year with a speed that would make the weak of heart faint , drop it, dont touch anything that has something to do with modding for some non specified time (usually several months) and start the circle again.
