Alexrd Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Can it really be any worse than it's been since 1999? Was it even bad in the first place?
Char Ell Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 It's now official. The European Commission cleared Disney's purchase of Lucasfilm yesterday and Disney closed the deal in the same day. Should anyone have noticed that the day of the close occurred on the same day as the supposed Mayan "end of the world" I'm sure it's purely coincidental. THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY COMPLETES LUCASFILM ACQUISITION

Prime Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Who is the Lucas guy and why does he matter anymore? Love, Gary Kurtz
Sith Holocron Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Who is the Lucas guy and why does he matter anymore? Love, Gary Kurtz ^^^Umm...wat? Gary Kurtz (born July 27, 1940 in Los Angeles, California) is an American film producer whose list of credits include American Graffiti, Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. He later produced The Dark Crystal and Return to Oz after departing from the Star Wars series. Read this and become enlightened.
Alexrd Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Read this and become enlightened. I think he didn't understood the comment itself, not the person.
battle111 Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Hey news on movie web !! http://www.movieweb.com/news/abc-wants-star-wars-live-action-tv-series-despite-its-expensive-budget "ABC Want's Star wars live action TV series Despite it's expensive budget" an animated comedy series ?? what the ??
Miltiades Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 an animated comedy series ?? what the ?? That's Star Wars: Detours. Don't have much to say about the TV series. It's pretty obvious it would end up on ABC and that ABC would want a SW series on their network. Whether we'll get one (soon), remains to be seen. The only interesting new info is that Ron Moore was involved in writing the scripts. Now I'm curious what a Ron Moore SW episode would look like.

Prime Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/729937/zack-snyder-to-direct-a-star-wars-movie/?utm_source=dlvr.it The idea of a Star Wars-ized version of the Seven Samurai excites me greatly.
Alexrd Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 It appears JJ Abrams will get the director's chair... This can only mean one thing: lens flares.
Dak Drexl Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 This can only mean one thing: lens flares. Of course! I think JJ will do a great job; we will just have to wait and see.
Giant Graffiti Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 I quickly said that because of my loyalty to Star Trek, and also just being a fan, I wouldn’t even want to be involved in the next version of those things. I declined any involvement very early on. I’d rather be in the audience not knowing what was coming, rather than being involved in the minutiae of making them. http://screenrant.com/jj-abrams-star-wars-episode-7-director/
Dak Drexl Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 http://screenrant.com/jj-abrams-star-wars-episode-7-director/ That was pretty well-known before. I think it's pretty set in stone now though, so he was probably just swatting away any speculation before.
Sith Holocron Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 It appears JJ Abrams will get the director's chair... This can only mean one thing: lens flares. Directing Star Wars and Star Trek? That's like " " of nerd-dom.
Alexrd Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Directing Star Wars and Star Trek? That's like " " of nerd-dom. His Star Trek movie is more Star Wars than anything else.
Dread Advocate Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 I don't care what you guys think about Abrams, I'm in-need-of-new-underwear-excited. Kinda like this guy:
Lynk Former Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 I don't trust him as a director. He's overhyped and his movies are forgettable... or memorable for the wrong reasons.
Ctrl Alt Del Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 I like him much better than, say, Spielberg's stuff that came of late. And I'm sure he knows the established movie canon isn't meant to be messed with (as he did with Star Trek IX).
Alexrd Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 And I'm sure he knows the established movie canon isn't meant to be messed with (as he did with Star Trek IX). He's tied to the story of Lucas.
Dak Drexl Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 He's tied to the story of Lucas. Do you mean this is in regard to the overall SW universe or Lucas' VII-IX treatments?
