Huz
I'm only about halfway through but this is great stuff. Good to hear an explanation for the lack of vertical scrolling!
Udvarnoky
Wow, sounds like he has ambitions to turn DREAMM into an all-encompassing LucasArts emulator, or at least a certain subset of non-adventure games.

The latest beta version already supports Escape from Monkey Island, Grim Fandango and Dark Forces! https://aarongiles.com/dreamm/beta/
Udvarnoky
You sure? The page doesn't mention the support of those games, and that build of DREAMM isn't recognizing my GOG install of EMI. Perhaps if I pulled out my actual discs I'd get a different result.
TimeGentleman
They're not listed here either: https://aarongiles.com/dreamm/#about-supported
Benny
They worked for me when I dragged on cd images of those games.
TimeGentleman
In that case, sounds like It does indeed need the original CD files (or images) rather than the gog version's files. The list I linked to must not cover the beta. Edited January 7 by TimeGentleman
Benny
The beta also supports Afterlife, Tie Fighter Cd, Rebel Assault 2, amazing stuff.
Udvarnoky
Yup, ISOs are working for me. Weird! Unlike Grim, which is only sold in remastered form, the digital storefront version of EMI includes the native executable. Maybe Lucasfilm mucked with the fileset in some other way that's tripping DREAMM up.
Aaron Giles
Sorry for the confusion! I haven't been widely advertising the beta because it still has a bunch of rough edges, but feel free to check it out. I've only worked with disc images so far, and haven't yet taught DREAMM about the GOG/Steam releases of newly-supported games. In the case of EFMI, I suspect the digital version has the updated EXE, which was not on the disc images. Should be an easy enough thing to support in the future. Aaron P.S. If you *DO* try out the beta, feel free to let me know of major issues (or minor ones), especially if you're on a Mac, as this is my first attempt to package up a MacOS X application. MacOS support?!? If the emojis weren't broken my head would be exploding. Thank you for adding that!
